I bought this product based on customer reviews. I'm not disappointed. If you're an English speaker, all the instructions that came with the product were not in English. I went to the product website and read the English instructions posted there.

First purchased this product in London. Really works well to fight off a cold but has to be used as soon as cold symptoms start to present. When I received the product from this Amazon seller, the instructions were not in English, not sure what language it was. If this was a first time purchase, I would have returned the item.

I got influenza in Morocco and brought it back to the United kingdom where I was staying with friends who were pensioners. I was confirmed to have Influenza A. So I locked myself in a bedroom so that I wouldn't make anyone else sick.Both of my friends purchased this item to try and stave off getting the flu from me. My husband also bought one. There was an issue with vaccination and they didn't receive them that year. So they were really worried, all of them, that they might catch the flu from me.All three people used the product diligently (separate bottles). It's available from lots of places in London. After two days I came downstairs and stayed the day with them in the kitchen/living area. And I did so for the next week as well even though I was still contagious. None of them got sick from being around me:-))))So my husband and I came back to America and couldn't find this product in any store. My brother also got the flu, so we ordered some from Amazon and had it sent to my SIL so that she could be around him. She used it diligently and never got sick either.If you're around someone who has the flu and you don't want to get sick, use this product!!!

I first found this in an apothecary in London during winter nearly a decade ago. I felt that awful feeling in the back of my throat, I didn't have any Cold-Eeze with me and I thought ugh I'm going to catch cold while traveling, just great. I asked around for zinc lozenges and nobody in the pharmacy knew what I was talking about. The pharmacist pointed me to this product and so skeptically, I tried it out. It's amazing. At first, it has a slight stingy feeling when it starts to spread in your nasal/throat passage, almost like the sore throat is getting worse. But it doesn't. At all. It works better than zinc lozenges, in my experience, since it gets all the way into your nasal passage. Any time I feel like I might be coming down with something, I'll double up the Cold-Eeze with this nasal spray. I used to have friends bring this product back from London for me whenever they visited. It is that good. You don't have to believe me, but I haven't come down with a real cold ever since I started using this product (doubled up with zinc lozenges). Knock on wood! Now that it's available stateside, so so glad I don't have to ask friends to bring this back for me from Europe.

I am so incredibly happy I randomly picked this up one day and to find it on Amazon. I bought it at the recommendation of a friend as I get sick a lot working in a small office within close proximity to my coworkers, generally figuring it would have a placebo effect but desperate to still try something. Lo and behold, it ACTUALLY works! Autumn came and with it a slew of office sniffles and with a respiratory problem I always get hit the worst with the extra coughing. No longer - while First Defense hasn’t completely eliminated the cold (I think that’s impossible) it keeps it at bay. While my poor coworkers were struggling with hacking coughs, running and blocked noses, sore throats, headaches etc at most I’ve had an on/off running nose, a VERY mild sore throat and an intermittent cough that is more likely due to my own respiratory issues (I’m 25, my body just sucks).I’m really, really happy and will be ordering a good batch more of these just in case!

Wife had Covid and so did my coworkers….well pretty much everyone is getting it. Took care of my wife during quarantine and used the first defense every 6 hours or so and never got sick. That was the only precaution I took. Now I take it at any sign of sickness and I don’t get sick

As most of you out there, I have tried a lot of cold medications hoping for a "magic bullet." I even tried Betadine spray which is supposed to be "cutting edge." On a differnet note, this is NOT a Zicam clone (although it does have zinc.) Regarding usage-I've sprayed quite a bit into my nostrils over the last couple of weeks with absolutely no adverse effects whatsoever. Our house had two sick adults, two sick children, and I was trying (in vain?) to see if I could circumvent this "bug." Lo and behold (I couldn't believe it-i didn't get sick!! In my opinion, this spray appears to create sort of a "micro lining" in your nose, in addition to creating a chemical environment that is unfriendly to these viruses. P.S. Do NOT inhale the mist-just spray a couple times into each nostril every six hours, and you may very well get the same results as me. I had no problem with the absence of the safety seal (although, yes, they should have provided one.) I'm guessing this product just hasn't been put to the FDA here in the US yet. Sound too good to be true? Prove it to yourself!!

It was bearable for the first few uses (to stop me catching the office lurgy before holiday). Then I sniffed in a slightly over zealous way and managed to inhale a shot of this straight in to my left sinus. I could barely see for about 10 minutes and the seering pain in my face was quite something to behold. Not sure I can bring myself to try again. I doubt inhalaing crack would hurt any less.

I've used this a few times now, and it actually seems to work! Especially if taken as soon as you know you may be going down with a cold, or someone in your circle gets a cold to gleefully spread. I have asthma and everything goes to my chest, a basic cold can easily turn in to a chest infection, my youngest (adult) daughter gets ear infections almost every time she gets a cold/flu which has compromised her hearing to slight degree. So having something that helps to avoid the worst of the lurgies is a god send. If sprayed at the entrance to the nostril, and tilted towards the outer side of your nose the stinging is pretty minor or not evident, hold your nostrils closed and kind of press them together all the way up to spread the spray. I've had unpleasant stinging before, but today in a rush I just squirted it in to my nostrils, full depression no holding back. Jesus the agony in my right nostril, EYE, sinus and gum below the sinus. I thought I'd killed myself, shot through the brain with a cold remedy. Took half an hour to feel just unpleasant rather than claw at your face painful. I'll probably keep using it as not dying of a chest infection is cool. However I'm going to be a damn sight more careful. I might even try soaking a cotton wool bud with it and just dabbing around the lower half of my nostrils - gross I know.

I got this when my cold was already pretty bad (sore throat, coughing, blocked ears, runny nose, feverish, weak, chills) BUT it did actually help a great deal. I could feel a real difference after the second/third application (they recommend using it 4 times a day). Second day using it and i feel sooo soo much better.update: Third day -still getting better but the spray has now irritated my throat a bit (perhaps i was too keen and used too much of it) anyway it’s definitely worth buying as it does make a difference. just need other stuff to go with it (like lozenges) if your cold is bad.

As a front line health worker. I purchased this to use to line the nostrils as extra protection, during the Covid 19 outbreak. Works well for intended use

It's nasty to use if you breath it in, didn't like the 'taste' I got after. However I went on transatlantic flight and DID NOT GET A COLD. ImpressedQuick blast up the nose in the departure lounge, seemed to do the job
