SMARTRO SC42 Professional Digital Hygrometer Indoor Room Thermometer

I picked up the SMARTRO SC42 Professional Digital Hygrometer about two months ago to monitor my master bedroom because of bathroom with shower. This thing is impressive right out of the box. The 3.5" LCD screen is large and clear, with big digits that are easy to read even from across the room. The touch-activated backlight is a nice touch — it lights up for about 10 seconds when you tap the top, perfect for checking at night without turning on a lamp. Accuracy seems spot-on. It uses industrial-grade sensors (Swiss-made, according to the specs) and updates every 10 seconds. I compared it side-by-side with a couple of other thermometers/hygrometers I own, and it consistently matched or beat them. Temperature is within ±0.5°F and humidity within ±2% RH, which is excellent for this price range. I love that it shows 24-hour and all-time high/low records too — super helpful for tracking how my AC or humidifier is doing. It also has a comfort indicator that tells you if the room is too dry, too humid, or just right. Setup was basically plug-and-play (2x AAA batteries, not included). It comes with a stand, magnetic back, and hanging hole, so you can place it anywhere. No real complaints so far — battery life is solid, and it feels well-built. If you want a reliable indoor consumer thermometer/hygrometer this one is a winner. Highly recommend.

Surprised at how good it works for such a low price point. Use it to check my sauna room, not in the sauna. Helps be see where things are and adjust. Numbers are big, back light. Very handy

I can't give it a rating for accuracy yet, because it's only been running for a half-hour, but I'll monitor it and will give it 4 stars for now. Like everyone else I'm used to a certain standard for stuff "Made in China," but I was very pleasantly surprised by this unit. It comes with a little clearly written folding instruction book outlining all the features and options (which most importantly was written by someone who has a full command of English!) It also has multiple references on the box and the documentation for customer support, and a reference to a 3-Year Replacement Warranty if you register the product (with a scancode link), so it's clear they care about customer satisfaction. The unit has a nice large display of RH and Temp, with easy to adjust buttons on the back (to switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit, etc.) The back has multiple mounting options, a hanger indent / hook, and two very strong magnets; it won't be going anywhere if you mount it on metal. The battery slider door is tough plastic and strong. The outer surrounding case is grooved so it's easy to hang onto. Yes, the backlight only displays when you touch the activation button on top or a button in back, but if it was on all the time you'd be changing batteries a lot more. I have mine at eye level on top of a cabinet out of the direct sun (as instructed), and it's easy to touch the top to light up the display brightly. I added two AAA batteries and was up and running in seconds. Assuming that it keeps accurate temp and indicates RH that's in the ballpark to an older more expensive weather station I have, then I'm definitely going to get at least 1 more for a closet where I keep some expensive chess pieces that have to stay between 40-60% RH. You can calibrate it yourself if you want, but it was calibrated at the factory so should be good to go. For less than $20 this is a great deal (and since when faced with multiple similar items I usually pick the dud, I'm really happy with my purchase this time. One of my better Amazon buys lately...!) Again I haven't had this long enough to notice any issues, but offhand I'd say go for it and I don't think you'll be sorry from what I've seen so far.

Just got it today based on all of the reviews and I'm extremely Happy with my purchase! Super Easy to set up, literally I put the batteries in and it did whatever it had to do on its own! I Love that it comes with magnets attached and a little stand. I purchase the two-pack and stuck one to the fridge via the magnet and one in another area on its stand. Love the light button to make it bright when you need to see it, Love the Large Numbers, Temperature monitoring was spot on.... I can tell this will function perfectly and the batteries will last quite a while because the light goes to a dimmer mode until you need to make it brighter. We have Golden Retrievers with double coat fur and I'm always cold and can't tell if their rooms are too hot & humid... so these are perfect for each area they are in so I can keep them comfortable! Just got them today and already Love them! Great Price too! I would Highly Recommend and would purchase again! It was delivered FAST too.

Easy to read, seems accurate and updates very quickly. Highly recomended… reasonable price, I bought two.

Small in size but accurate in telling the temperature of the room

Usually, when people write a review about a product, they highlight (or complain) about a particular feature, functionality or overall design. However with the joy of unboxing and looking forward to using it, they often forget to check the support terms and quality. You often find the one star reviews that vituperate the non existent customer support and, if you're like most people, you'll ignore it, think it's a fluke, or otherwise hope it won't happen to you. It is rare to find an exceptional customer support and I when I came across one I decided to write a review, as I rarely do. First, a little about the product. I'm an amateur violinist and needed a hygrometer. After some research, I decided to buy the Smartro SC42. It's a really nice hygrometer, with nice display and is pretty accurate. Alas, after a year the battery would not last for more than 48 hours. After months of not using it, well after a year since buying it, I took a chance and contacted the customer support. The experience I have had with them was nothing short of exceptional, especially considering that the product is not that expensive and I honestly did not expect much. I received a response less than 24 hours and the team kept following up with me until they confirmed a day later that a replacement had been sent, apologizing for a defect in that particular product. I was blown away by how fast, responsive and helpful they were and will gladly consider buying anything else they sell given this amazing customer support. I wish more companies would adopt such a high standard.

I stayed with my elderly mom to help her recover after a surgery. My mom lives in an independent care facility, and her room has air-conditioning. One of the days I stayed with her it got insanely hot in her room. I complained that it was too hot in her place. She had the windows open on a day close to 90F. Anyway, she refused to turn her air conditioner on. Close to 9 pm when she was going to bed, she fell. Fortunately, she was not injured, and I helped her back up. My mom stated she felt weak right before she fell. I am guessing it had a lot to do with the fact that it cooled off to 84F inside of her apartment when she fell. She spent all day in heat and felt weak as a result. I bought this thermometer and set it in place where she can see it (across her living room). It is easy for her to read due to the large digital display. I told her to keep her place between 70-80F. The next couple days her air conditioner was on, and her apartment was in the upper 70's as far as temperature goes. She felt stronger when her apartment was cooler. For those who do not know, elderly people lose the ability to regulate and sense temperatures. That is why a product like this was a good investment for my mom.

He tenido muchos de estos y este es muy preciso, además se ilumina al moverlo, vale la pena el dinero q vale.

Working great so far and I’ve had for a few months now. Accurate measure and backlight is very bright but not blinding. Great display and easy to read.

I wanted a more accurate device to show me the temperature and relative humidity on my boat in the winter months. I like the large, easy to see & read, digital display, also with bright illumination if required. The device correlates with other similar devices I have. I have also used it at home and would recommend this particular product versus lower cost alternative products.

Ottimo igrotermometro. Ottimo prodotto.

The product was shipped really well and quick. Overall, really easy to use, just need to install 2 batterys and its good to go. Magnet on the back is also strong, so it sticks well to surfaces. Only thing is that the display picture suggests that the sensor comes with a kickstand, which was not on the sensor when I got it. So if you're looking for something that has a kickstand, or can stand on it's own, maybe check with the seller first.
