It was nice to find bearings that fit an old bicycle.

They are bearings and they work.

My daughter had a windmill type yard decoration that had "frozen" due to corroded bearings. I was able to remove the old bearings and then purchased these because they were exactly the same size. The replacement was easy and it has been at least a month now and the windmill is working great. Only time will tell how well sealed these bearings are to prevent the internal corrosion that caused the original bearings to fail.

I used this bearing in an old Shakespeare fishing reel. The action is quite stiff. I was wondering how the 609ZZ and the 609Z were intended for different applications? I now know that the ZZ has a grease and dirt seal on both sides, and the Z has it on one side only. The side shield can be removed if required.The bearings themselves are apparently identical. Sometimes the bearing may be marked 609Z but really be a 609ZZ.My two previous reviews are consequently untrue (and hopefully will be deleted).Maybe the stiffness of the 609ZZ I received could be caused by dried out grease in an 'old stock' unit. I am going to remove or drill a side cover where I can pack or squirt some lube in; maybe spin it with a drill for awhile too.Amazon does have both Z and ZZ in stock.

There were two in the order and looked identical, but when I tried the first one on the shaft it just slipped right on. this was not good, because you have to have them pressed on and anchored with some pressure or the whole bearing turns.So I tried the second one and it was slightly smaller and had to be pressed onto the shaft and worked fine.I froze the shaft and then slightly heated the bearing to expand it and tapped it on with a socket, I think 11mm to get it down to the seat on the shaft. I works fine. I didn't want to send both back, and didn't know how to just send one back, so for the cost I just sucked it up. The motor is now working fine.

Il confronto con quelli montati in origine è impietoso. Quelli hanno una semplice schematura di plastica, mentre questi d'acciaio. Sicuramente anche la qualità dell'acciaio utilizzato per le sfere è migliore (quelli originali dopo un breve utilizzo avevano già iniziato a ronzare e poi sgranare a causa delle ammaccature delle sfere)
