High quality hole saws that could use some attention to detail.
I'm going to be just a little picky in this review because these are not inexpensive saws. So keep in mind that I like them and and am glad I bought them. See pics for detailsA. The case. The case doesn't affect performance but it's part of the kit and makes the first impression. First thing you notice is the label is considerably larger than the smooth space allotted and it doesn't stick to the surrounding pebbled surface. It doesn't affect performance but the label being too large and flapping loose tells me that Century doesn't care about details. (reflected in the paint job) The case is the cheap type that are usually thrown away. It has exactly the amount of slots for all the parts unlike the Starrett cases which have extra spaces so if you buy extra saws or other accessories you have a place to put them. I don't take off for it, but if I buy another hole saw, this case is useless. If you are going to include a case, make it worth keeping like the Starrett cases.B. Paint. Again, doesn't necessarily affect performance but speaks to quality control and how much the company cares about perception of their product. The paint thickness varied from saw to saw. You can see it best on the three larger saws. The 2-1/2" saw has the perfect paint thickness and the stamped information is easy to read. Paint on the 2" saw is thicker, the stamp can still be read. Paint on the 1-3/4" saw is so thick you can't read the stamped size, or maybe the stamp itself is faint, hard to tell. But the paint is definitely thicker than on the larger saws. There was some paint flash left inside the holes. Threads were clear of paint on all except the 1-3/4", I had to clean the threads before screwing it on the arbor.C. Rust. A couple of the saws had surface rust in the threads. No big deal, it came off with a paper towel and I didn't take off for it in the rating.D. Performance. The most important part. I'm a woodworker so I only tested on wood. Using an 18V Makita with a low battery, these cut through 3/4" pine in a second, it was extremely quick. No burning and the hole is reasonably smooth. I think if my battery had been charged or I used a corded drill, it might have broken the sound barrier. If I ever use it on other materials I'll try to remember to update the review.I chose these over the Starrett hole saws because they are made in the USA, Starrett hole saws are made in China. But I really wish I could have the Starrett case.

Tool did what it was supposed to do. Plastic ...
Tool did what it was supposed to do. Plastic guide will not last for repeated use since the hole saw tends to dig into it.
