First, let me say that I don't know what is meant by "sheerness" and "thickness" in the question portion. This is a thick paste about the consistency of tomato paste, easily mixed in with other ingredients. Bamboe Nasi Goreng instant spice is very easy to use and really delicious. I do not at all enjoy very hot food made with chilis, but the Bamboe flavorings have just a hint of chili and have never given me any trouble along that line. I also like their Rendang curry instant spice and a sort of mild white curry instant spice whose name I forget. I do deviate from the suggested ingredients, sauteeing chopped onions and maybe some thinly-sliced carrots in coconut oil to begin with and sometimes adding shrimp or egg, after which, most often, I mix the cooked and flavored vegetables and other things all together with cooked short grain white rice or else serve the flavored things on top of unflavored cooked rice. So my Nasi Goreng dishes are probably a little different from the way Indonesians might use this product but they have great flavor every time. I have even added some canned coconut cream to the mix on occasion. I think everyone should try this. I always keep some packets of Bamboe Nasi Goreng instant spice in the cupboard, as it is quite versatile. A couple of my Japanese friends also came across this spice by themselves and love it.

Though this price is high considering the price you would pay for this in an Indonesian grocery store (or market), this makes some yummy fried rice. It is a family favorite. I love that I can make delicious food while knowing I am using good ingredients, as most other brands use lots of msg while this one does not.

we love adding this to rice with an egg and soy sauce. we usually do chicken with it and its not spicy at all. we have little ones who eat it with no problems. so good!!!!

Makes the best tasting fried rice

This stuff is the best! The best homemade fried rice. These spices are magic! I just cook some frozen broccoli and frozen carrots on the stovetop (I undercook them a bit so they are firm--it's gross if they are squishy)....chop em...sauté some chopped white onion....cook bacon the method of your choosing (I'm obsessed with the air fryer--so easy) and crumble....scramble a few eggs....microwave riced cauliflower (minus 1 minute of cooking directions on package so it doesn't get too soft)....throw it all in a skillet and toss it around for a minute and then add the seasoning packet and just stir it up really good. The BEST lunch. HUGE bowl for 285 calories--also so good with minute rice but seriously cannot taste the difference with the cauliflower sub and it halves the cals. I have been having this for lunch a few times a week. So many veggies! Gluten free, dairy free, low carb (minus the carrots and it'd be no carb) and you can sub out any veggies your family prefers. Great product!

It's good, but tastes nothing like nasi goreng.
