Gum 642 Snap-ons Sulcabrush (12 Pack)

At my last dental cleaning, the hygienist gave me an end tuft brush and a Sulcabrush to clean those hard-to-reach places. At first I fell in love with the end tuft brush, which is great for getting your back teeth clean.Then my dog stole and chewed to bits the end tuft brush. Clearly I had no idea how fun it would be for him! Without the end tuft, I had to try the Sulcabrush. Just looking at it, it didn't appeal to me too much but with no choice, I tried it and I LOVE IT! It not only gets the back teeth clean, but you can get the space between teeth (where plaque forms) super clean. You can also gently clean any pockets in the gumline. It's something you would use in addition to flossing. I predict I will have much less plaque and tartar at my next cleaning. I am keeping my Sulcabrushes safe from the dog.The only thing I don't understand about the product is why you can't just buy the snap-on Sulcabrush heads, since it is clearly designed for that. Perhaps someday we will be able to and there will be less plastic and packaging waste.

I really like the unique shape of the handle. It makes brushing around your gums easy. The bristles are a little softer than I'd prefer, a matter of personal taste. There is one drawback. They made the handle with a simple mechanism to replace the brush head when it wears out, but I haven't found a source for the replacement heads. If they want me to buy it and use it long-term, they need to make replacement heads as readily available as the handle itself.

This is the brand my periodontist uses and told me I should be using a sulcusbrush daily. If this brush is his choice then I thought It should be my first choice. What I especially liked about this model was twofold. First it is double headed. A pin point brush head on both sides of the stem.Next the brush heads are replaceable. However, I haven't found the replacement heads in any retail store. So I purchased a handful (6)of brushes at a very reasonable price. As far as the effectiveness of this or any sulcus brush must be similar to asking toothbrush or no toothbrush.Not much thought about that ! I will continue to use this brand unless told otherwise. I am instructed to its use and therefore will use the brand my periodontist had used on me and gave me a few samples. The price is reasonable and the brushes are available on this site.Just wish I could find the replacement heads.

Actually these handles are for the new sulca (sulcus) brushes.But they also will accept the old discontinued Snap-on brushes.They will not accept the wire tipped Proxa brushes.---So you see Gum makes 3 different brush systems, and these handles fit two of those three systems.They are very well designed and work very well.--I had stored up lots of old Snap-on brushes and since Gum did not and does not make Snap-on handles any more I could not use them until this new Sulcabrush system came on the market. So now we can use all those snap-ons instead of just throw them away.
