Is there a CAT 5 cord needed for installation or some other connection

This is passive antenna, and it can't be connected directly to the network. It should be connected to the device with a detachable antenna connection to replace the default device's antenna and to improve the signal.

Can i plug this into an alfa awus036ach, into the same place that the whip antenna connects to?

yes but you may need to have a different end put on the cable

Will this product pick up the signal form a typical rv park wireless system and then transmit wirelessly to ipad, smart tvs, etc?

Not by itself. You need to connect it to a wifi access point or router that as an external antenna connection. I use it for the same purpose and use a Ubiquiti Bullet M2 wifi with this antenna.
