Must Have for Vintage Fabrics
I recently had the pleasure of using the 5-LB Pail-Restoration Hypoallergenic Powder to clean antique and delicate linens for my antique booths. As someone who specializes in selling vintage quilts, embroidered tablecloths, handkerchiefs, and doilies, I've never come across a product that works as effectively as this one. The results were truly astounding. I was genuinely shocked the first time I used this powder. The vintage doilies, which had a tired tan or brown appearance, emerged from their soak looking remarkably white. Even more impressively, this product managed to tackle the notorious old yellow or rust-colored stains that tend to plague old quilts. The transformation was remarkable – the stains were gone, leaving the linens looking rejuvenated and fresh. One of the standout features of this product is its compatibility with delicate linens. Many of the items I sell require extra care due to their fragile nature. This restoration powder proved to be gentle and safe for these pieces, effectively cleaning them without causing any damage. The key to success with this product lies in following the package directions precisely. Ensuring that the product is fully dissolved before immersing your linens is crucial. Once cleaned, rinsing the linens thoroughly is recommended. For items like large quilts, the hand-rinsing process can be time-consuming and somewhat challenging, but the incredible results make the effort worthwhile. Admittedly, I was initially taken aback by the price of the product. However, looking back, I can confidently say that it's been worth every penny. The remarkable restoration results it achieves and the ability to breathe new life into my antique and vintage linens have been invaluable for my business. In conclusion, the 5-LB Pail-Restoration Hypoallergenic Powder has proven to be a game-changer for me. Its ability to turn tired-looking linens into vibrant treasures, its compatibility with delicate pieces, and the sense of renewed value it brings to my items are unmatched. If you're looking to revitalize your antique and delicate linens, this product is a true gem. Just be prepared to invest the time and effort into proper rinsing, especially for larger pieces. Your investments will be rewarded with stunning outcomes that will captivate your customers and elevate your business.

Get this for any old clothing or fabrics and have them looking brand new
This is the second time I’ve purchased this product and I’ve not been disappointed! I ordered the smaller 2LB container to clean some old curtains that were my grandmothers. They were stained from age, cigarette smoke, and grease since they were hung in the kitchen. I had to go through several cycles of washing them with this detergent but it got the stains out that other detergents couldn’t. The curtains now look brand new. You do have to use 3 scoops of detergent per every gallon of water, so it’s easy to go through the small container quickly. I purchased this product a second time to clean an old gunne sax skirt I purchased that had yellowing on some of the lace and ribbon. I followed the instructions pre soaking the skirt in the solution for 15 minutes, wringing it out, and leaving it to soak for several hours. I ended up washing the skirt in my washing machine after soaking and I threw in a little bit of the detergent. The skirt came out looking brand new and all of the yellow stains are gone. The 5lb bucket seems to be the better deal for the amount of product for the price once shipping is factored in. My Only complaint about the bucket was that it was hard to get the lid off. I was not strong enough to pull the lid tab off, so I ended up having to cut it. The product had a normal detergent scent and is pleasant.

WORKS ON ALL 1960s BARBIE DOLL FABRICS
This is mainly for doll clothes, but I'm quite sure it works on delicates too. I restore antique & vintage dolls & clothes. For many years I used well known & very very expensive product. Sadly a few years ago I found its efficacy wanting. THIS product is amazing. It's much much less money & works perfectly. Follow the directions! Used it so far on antique clothing, Alexander and Vogue Doll clothes, & for me the hardest to clean and restore, the vintage 1960's Japan Barbie & family clothes. No fading, restores colors better than any other product I've ever used. Stains removed, whites restored, great on synthetics, even on Barbie's velvet slacks and Ken's wool clothes. Completely restored to pristine white, Ken's cotton sailor suit which was not only nicotine stained but filthy. If soaked & gently agitated in the clear jars I use & then properly rinsed, you can finger shape, so no ironing is needed. Tips: Stir to disolve product in very warm water, then let it cool to room temperature prior to using. Always color test! Before soaking bright colors in this product, soak in white vinegar & water. Then do several clear water soaks until you can no longer smell the vinegar-then soak in this product. Also you MUST thoroughly rinse the fabrics by soaking in a bowls of clear cold water several times. If your cottons were limp before soaking & you want to add spray sizing, do so after the final rinse. I actually spray the sizing into the last rinse. If you have liquid sizing (not starch), I'd love to know where you get yours! I love this stuff. I bought five pounds!

Wow!
So glad I discovered Restoration powder! I had put away some white pillowcases - some heirlooms with lace, others with embroidery done by my grandmother, my mother and myself. I rediscovered them and wondered why I've got them stashed in a chest. After me, no one will be interested, so why aren't I using them? Significant yellowing from storing for so long, and let's be honest, no matter how well laundered, pillowcases always retain traces of human use. I just used Restoration on the first pair. It was definitely my test-batch...and I had some trepidation. I'm thrilled. They're hanging in the afternoon sun now to dry, and I'm delighted at how fresh & white they look. With the very first step (pre-soak), I could tell something great was happening. Now, after step 2 (soaking for several hours), they're beautiful! Using this stuff is a little bit of a commitment, especially since I don't have a nice big utility sink, but it's really worth it. For one pair of pillowcases, I've used 6 little scoops of Restoration, so I'm glad I bought the 5 lb. canister. Hopefully, it will last me for years. I haven't tried it on anything with colored embroidery yet. Trusting that colors will stay.

Fabulous product, poor packaging
This stuff is absolutely the best for brightening whites (and colors) and removing stains, and is gentle enough for fine and/or antique products. Unfortunately the recent order I purchased came in somewhat new style packaging that is difficult and dangerous to open. You're expected to pull a heavy plastic tab around the outside to release the lid. Even grabbing it with pliers I couldn't get it to start and ended up having to use scissors, and once it got moving it ripped in ways that created extremely sharp edges. Luckily I still have the container from the previous order. Even it weren't such excellent and effective stuff, I would have given it even fewer stars.

Hands down—-The BEST laundry soap I have ever used
This soap is amazing. I use it to clean antique lace and antique or vintage clothing. I also use it to clean wool items or clothes that have impossible stains. It works in cold and hot water. You can literally watch the little bubbles attach themselves to the garment as it cleans. I just leave the items in a big bowl or bucket for 2-6 hours depending on what it is. I rinse and then lay flat to dry (or hang). I was so impressed with this soap that I bought another one before the first one was gone. I haven’t used it in the washing machine yet but I plan to try it for my non delicate items.

Miracle product for delicate, old, yellowed fabrics
I read quilting blogs for proper care on Antique quilts, yellowed fabric, or fragile fabric- this was suggests (along with a tiny splash of ammonia). Scoop provided …place powder HOT water before adding clothes! Let sit overnight sink/tub/ bucket, rinse, back into clean water until water is clear. Some use washing machine in the fabric isn’t delicate, but they also have a specific way of using it in the washing machine. It’s the most amazing produce I’ve ever used! The ingredient is specifically made for this purpose.
