D509V3 Arrived Quickly; Works with Device Side Data USB Interface
The Newtronics D509V3 seems to work as advertised and may even rate 5 stars; however, my limited use of the drive is specifically to rescue data on old floppies, so I really can't run it through its paces as an everyday-doing-work drive. I would need to do that to be able to knowingly give it that 5th star. I will say that it arrived promptly, and that it looked new and clean.I've hooked the drive to a Win7 PC using the read-only USB interface provided by Device Side Data (I'm also using a desktop floppy power supply from same company). Allows me to read my old 360k floppies that still have some good algorithms on them. The USB controller from Device Side Data includes the necessary cables; the table-top floppy power supply ends in the large plastic 4-prong connector that goes to the back of the floppy drive. I did NOT need to change any jumpers on the D509V3 to get this to work.

I've been rescuing 5.25" drives from the trash for well over a decade now, guess it's time to cash in!
