Strengths of Hard and Soft Pads Combined, In An Extra Large Size To Boot!
Great material. I've used many, many (many) pads, and I was looking for one that provides great glide, but also good stop-ability and control, and is extra large. The QcK Heavy has great control, but pretty a grippy glide. The hard pads I have (steelseries 9HD, logitech G440, Razer Destructor v2, Razer Sphex v2) all have great glide, but not the best control (steelseries 9HD is the best for a hard pad, I've seen, with the G440 and Razer Sphex being close seconds). That's where the Hayate Otsu comes in. It's 3D weave and coating give it a very hard pad type glide, while retaining a cloth pad's control. I first saw this type of best of both worlds fusion in the steelseries Dex pad. It has a textured cloth weave, though different from the Artisan's. It has fantastic glide and control. The two issues with it are that it's way too small, and the silicone backing doesn't do good job of keeping it in place. It wouldn't slide all over the place, but it would move an inch or two during the course of play sessions. The MSI Sistorm has a very similar textured weave and backing to the Dex, while also being larger. The backing on the Sistorm actually keeps it in place though, but the odd shape, along with the dimensions in general, still make it too small for me.The Otsu has the great material surface, a superior foam layer to any pad I've seen, and also the grippiest backing I've seen. When you lift it from the table it's like it's actually suctioned to it, complete with auditory feedback akin to removing a sticker. It doesn't actually have glue though and won't leave residue.Aside from the fact that the price dropped literally the day after I ordered lol, i am extremely happy with this pad and it has become my main and will remain so, until its demise. Which I hope is a very long time from now. Based on my early impressions of the quality of the materials, I think it will be a long time before it needs replacing.I highly recommend it. It is pricey, but worth it I think. While I was happy with the QcK Heavy, and I'm sure most will be as well, if you are looking for something more than just good, this is it.

The Holy Grail of gaming mouse pads!!!
I do not like it when I see people post “Best item ever!!!” However, in this instance, and given my 20+ years of PC gaming trying out tons of gaming mouse pads… I can honestly say, this is hands down the best mouse pad I have ever had the pleasure of using! My experiences date back to the Rat Pads days… Func days… when those were really the only 2 gaming mouse pads on the market… my my how far we have come. Since then, I have tried out a good 20+ mouse pads… always looking for perfection but never quite finding it.Hard plastic pads… tear your mouse feet up pretty quickly especially if you game a ton… hard plastic pads are great so long as you get the appropriate surface AND want to deal with replacing mouse feet.Cloth pads… even the speediest marketed ones that I have tried tend to be just too much “control”… nylon cloth pads are comfortable I will give them that much… I tried out 2 different ones that were labeled as Speed… neither of which gave me a feeling of speed while using them. They just had too much “Control”…Whereas this Hayate Otsu MID L mousepad is what I like to think of as the Holy Grail of gaming mouse pads. Seriously, I am still blown away by my tracking… flick shots… AND stopping power. It really is the best of both worlds. Finally! I have found perfection!!!CONS: Price… but I truly believe in this scenario you do get what you pay for it. Also, the pad does not stick as well to my desk as previous cloth mouse pads… but it does not move on me at all while deep in the trenches of combat.

This pad is good. I have tried several cloth mat such as ...
This pad is good. I have tried several cloth mat such as razer, steelseires and etc. This is by far the most suitable one for me. First of all, i play a lot of fps games like bf4, l4d2, overwatch. And i find a cloth mat is the better choice than hard mat for most of the time because when it comes to precise aiming, hard mat often makes the mouse slide a little bit more before it actually stops at where you want. This usually makes it hard to shoot people with high dps low fire rate weapons like magnum or arrow. Cloth mat is good for aiming, but it is a little bit slow at moving around, especially fighting in close quarters. As a result, it really takes me a lot of time to search online and look for the most suitable pad for me. And this is it! On this mat, you can try to push the mouse but it will stop almost the same time as you stopped giving force on it. ( By the way i am using corsair m65 pro rgb as my mouse right now.) It gives you a decent amount of friction so that you can have a better aiming experience. Furthermore, it also shares the speed quality of the hard mat, which makes you very nimble in the combat. So if you have the same issue like me, definitely give a try to this one and it won't let you down.

Hybrid mouse pad (base wont stick your desk)
This is a very good hybrid mouse pad. One of the cons is the size the large is to small compared to qck heavy. The major con and the reason why I would not recommend this is the base. The base will not stick to your desk. Even tried stacking it on top of other mouse and it would still move during game play.

I've used it feels like a hard pad but moves like a cloth pad
One of the smoothest mouse pads, I've used it feels like a hard pad but moves like a cloth pad, it is actually amazing, the first ive used that feels like this. Ive used qck+/heavy, gsr and compare to this its not a different level.

Nice but overpriced
Very nice but seems way way overpriced. Best mouse pad I have ever owned.

False Advertising, size is way off advertised description.
Not as advertised. The description says this mouse pad is 21 x 15 but the real size is 16.5 x 13, not even close to the advertised product dimensions.

Good quality, but short life
This pad is very consistent. However, I feel it is not worth its price tag. It also wore out rather quickly. The backing is superb. I have never had a pad grip the table as securely as this one.
