ReeseDRT30868 Elite Series 5th Wheel Rail Kit for GM HD

I had to buy this when we upgraded our 5th wheel hauler from an 06 to a 2015. Although our hitch is a Reese Signature Series (pre-Elite), it worked perfect. Installation time for a first timer user would probably be 3 to 4 hours and includes trimming the exhaust heat shield and raising the bed a few inches off the mount. It also requires drilling 4 large holes in the bed of the truck, so measure twice and drill once. If you are going to have your bed lined, I recommend doing it after mounting the rails as that way they can line the inside of the holes and help keep rust from forming there, but you will also have to readjust the latching pins on your hitch to make up for the thickness of the bed liner. I also held off having the truck rustproofed until after the install so the hitch rails would be rustproofed too.

Great system I just love it. Looks so professional. Ford and Ram come with this already installed if you get the option. GMC and Chevy don't offer it but this works great. Picture makes it look cheap or flimsy. Not the case this is built for life with super thick steel.I order this twice first time the box was missing almost everything because it's so poorly packed. Reese overnighted me the parts and Amazon overnighted me a new hitch. I was able to return the hitch to Amazon and use the parts from Reese. Exceptional service from both companies. My advice is order in advance. I ordered this 2 weeks before picking up my trailer and it took every bit of that between the missing parts and so on but everything worked out great.I highly recommend

Fit our 2018 Chevy 3500HD, we didn't want the hitch rails that mounted on the top, wanted to be able to use truck bed when the 5th wheel hitch was removed. Note: only the Reese Elite series are compatible with this rail system. We bought a CURT thinking it would fit, it did not, Save yourself time and headache get the Reese Elite 5 th wheel hitch( ours was the 26K)

This kit allows us to have a flat truck bed floor when not using the hitch. Not something we could put on ourselves as the truckbed had to be raised to install.
