Screw-on Camera Metal Lens Hood Sun Shade for 55mm Thread Lenses for Nikon AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G Sony 85mm f/2.8 Alpha A-Mount Standard Prime Lens

This is the third JJC lens hood I have purchased - obviously I was perfectly happy with the previous two. They were larger, for medium format film camera lenses, and I was able to to mount them onto the lenses and then securely fit a the original lens caps inside, on the filter threads. This new 49mm screw thread lens hood has no means of mounting a lens cap inside, so it is necessary to buy a separate lens cap to fit onto the end of the hood. For a 49mm hood I used a 58mm centre pinch or side pinch type lens cap. This done, the lens hood is excellent quality and made of sturdy metal.Another observation I had originally was that the lens hood did not 'lock' into the lens filter thread no matter how many times I turned it. So it felt loose although it would not pull or fall off. I have since then changed the filter, and the hood now tightens nicely.

This product is a total waste of money. It does not fit my lens even though it states on the product description. Please do not waste your money. Watched a few YouTube videos they all state the same not well made as it is from China and you need to shave parts off to make it fit. Very very bad should not be sold on Amazon.

Fits all 46mm screw filter size lenses and is invariably more robust, beautifully machined, and better made than the original. Highly recommended.

Well constructed, threads are clean and seem well cut, overall very solid.10/10 for the price.

Hi, I purchased this for my M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 lens, 46mm filter thread. As other reviewers have correctly mentioned you can no longer fit a lens cap with the hood mounted on the lens but you can add a cheap 58mm center pinch or side pinch type lens cap to the front of the hood which fits perfectly.:)

For the price it is fine

Hard wearing, easy to fit, does the job for me after having sent back other flimsy poorly made ones.
