Derwent Colorsoft Pencils, 4mm Core, Metal Tin, 72 Count (0701029)

With the name Derwent you expect to get a great set of colored pencils and these do not disappoint. They are soft, hence the name, so they blend well and also work great with my other pencils, Prismacolors, Polychromos, Lyra, Blick, dry Inktense and FC Albrecht Durer, Marco Renior, ect. Though Derwent pencils may cost a bit more at mid range price, though less expensive than Polychromos, remember the round barrel is large at 4mm and for me I find them comfortable to hold, more so than thin hexagon pencils. They are not scratchy feeling at all and because they are soft, if your on the heavy handed side like I tend to be, you might have to sharpen a bit more if you need a super fine pointy tip. I would highly recommend these to anyone who loves this medium and would suggest purchasing here at Amazon. If you watch the price, you can get a great deal, I paid $12 more here a few months ago than the $65 price shown today. I think they are worth the investment of the extra cost than purchasing a cheaper but much less quality set of pencils, even for coloring book addicts, like any task or "job", you will find yourself enjoying it so much more, example coloring or creating a masterpiece, when you have the right tools. FYI this is my own opinion, I haven't earned the privilege of receiving free or discounted products on Amazon so I WAS NOT given these free or discounted but purchased with my hard earned money and I still would highly recommend these to the casual coloring book artist or the professional artists. Good pencil's. We are happy with them. Expected to be softer. But we enjoy the variety of colours

I love colored pencils and use them for illustrations ant artistic style coloring. I purchased the Coloursoft to compliment my other high end brands. I actually purchased the 12 count set before investing in these. I love the thick cores which are very soft and creamy and the colors are rich in hue. They do well in both blending and layering and using the Derwent blender and burnisher really makes filling in areas quick. I haven't had any issues with leads breaking but because they are so soft it is hard to maintain a sharp tip. I found these do play well with Prismacolor Premiere and Faber-Castell Polychromos as well as many other sets I own. There's a few unique colors not found in other sets as well. The tin they come in is thick but the lid doesn't stay on well so I do use a large Rubberband to keep it closed when storing them. The trays are decent and not too thin or flimsy like some sets. Overall one of my top must have pencils.

After using the Prismacolor and trying not to sink any more money into pencils, I gave in to the huge desire to try the Derwent Coloursoft. I did a lot of reading and researching beforehand and couldn't imagine anything being more wonderful than the Prismacolor. I WAS WRONG!! I'm in love with these pencils. I'm not a complete traitor to my Prismacolor though because it's almost like having two completely different coloring media. While the Prismacolor is smooth, soft and oh so wonderful, the Derwent Coloursoft is smooth, and so awesomely (probably not a word) blendable! I was amazed at how easy it is to color with these pencils. They are fatter than Prismacolor which feels great with my arthritic hands. They don't require hard coloring to get beautiful blending effects and they look so pretty on everything I've colored. When coloring a large area, it's easier to blend in the lines that you sometimes get that I was having issues with when using the Prismacolor. I wouldn't give up my Prismacolor pencils but I do believe the Derwent is my new favorite go-to pencil! I bought the 72 tin, but wish I'd sprung for the larger set.

The product itself is amazing. I've been using these pencils for a few years. The colors are beautiful, and blend with ease. I used these on hand crafted Christmas cards and doll repaints. The product is well worth the money. I order this set of pencils for my mom, as she has been coloring in adult coloring books. My only issue was with the shipping. Although I received this in a very timely manner, it was only wrapped in a thin bubble wrap and tape. When I opened it, the tin case was bent and taped with packing tape holding it shut (this indicated that it was obviously already damaged before shipping). I couldn't get the packing tape off, so I had to cut the tin open. At this point I thought the tin might just be damaged, but maybe the pencils would be fine and I could just find another container (kind of defeats the purpose of a nicely organized storage tin). What was inside the tin just angered me. The pencils had obviously been used. Some were shorter than others from being sharpened, and a few colors were missing having been replaced with duplicate colors. This gift I ordered through Prime, for my mom, whose birthday was in a few days, arrive a HOT MESS. I immediately called Amazon, because let's get real, during the pandemic, Amazon has been a go-to for anything and everything for a LOT of people. Out of the hundreds of items I've ordered in the past year, I've only had a handful of issues. Amazon immediately sent out a replacement that arrived the next day...it was in perfect condition and just in time for my mom's birthday. Product - 10 Shipping - 1 Amazon's redemption - 10

Great soft pencil with excellent coverage and blending. A little pricey but worth it. Wish Amazon packaged them differently when shipping due to the pencils colored lead being more suseptible to breaking, like put a little air pouch or bubble wrap...something other then just a cardboard box. But 10-10 would recommend the pencils!

Os lápis são muito bons, robustos, macios, pigmentados sem deixar a pintura com o aspecto ceroso. Para o meu gosto acho que a madeira está um pouco abaixo da qualidade da mina. O produto chegou dentro do prazo e sem avarias.

Tengo muchos lápices pero quería un conjunto solo de tonos piel y me decidí por este ya que los productos de esta marca me gusta mucho la calidad. He acertado de pleno. Viene en un magnífico estuche en caja metálica para una buena conservación del material, y es ideal por tamaño para guardarlo en cualquier sitio, o transportarlo. Incluye un sacapuntas, que nunca viene mal. La selección de colores personalmente me gusta, ya que aunque solo vienen 6 lápices, hay variedad de tonos para hacer diferentes pieles. Se mezclan super bien entre ellos y además los puedes combinar con otros lápices que tengas, yo lo he hecho y perfecto. El set incluye los colores: C010 - C180 - C190 - C590 - C610 - C630. Qué colores tan bonitos y qué limpieza en el trazado, no dejan borrones, marcas o grumos. Son preciosos y, aunque los he usado muy poco, parece muy fácil trabajar con ellos porque son suaves. Me encantan
