I contracted the flu and I don’t know how it lasted for three weeks the cough would not go away. I went to use my old packed away purmist, and it quit working so I ordered another one and the temperature button went out so I wrote to purmist explained my problem they worked quickly to get an order in to replace it. I was able to use the purmist for three days and then those three days I went from 25 to 30 something coughs a day to five or six, and slept much better, because the pure mist thinned out the mucus, and it wasn’t dripping down my throat, causing me to cough so much. Thanks Jenifer!!Looking forward to my replacement purmist arriving. I never want to be without it ever. Customer service is five stars. Make sure you register it and if you have a problem, call customer service. Update:: recently, I caught the flu again & again the sinus and the cough lasted. Then I remembered my purmist, which now I keep aside by bed at all times in a basket.So again, I used it and it save me a trip to the emergency room. I used it three times a day for a few days, and all my symptoms disappeared. . Again, I never want to be without my Puremist . I also have added the essential oil packets. They help immensely if you’re having any sinus issues or you have the flu or a cough? Btw i buy mine straight from company plus subscribe for their water refill cylinders and essential oil packs. OK so... I was a real skeptic of this product. I thought it was a ton of money and the reviews left me dubious at best. It seemed riddled with issues and workarounds that encroaches in ridiculous. But there I was with the weather suddenly cooler, the heat suddenly on, and my sinuses suddenly giving me all the telltale signs of oncoming misery - dry, a little bloody, a little sore throat from PND, etc... I HATE getting sick from something so avoidable but the usual steamy shower and Vick’s was not cutting it, so I ordered this. I knew I wanted the cordless one but it just had too many irksome reviews so I went with the new corded one that seemed the most stable from all the reviews. I’m a week into using it and officially have decided to keep it it. I use it every night after I get into bed, keep it plugged in at my bedside. It isn’t just helping my sinuses, it is now a part of my bedtime routine that I look forward to. It is warm and relaxing and comforting and it isn’t a miracle for my sinuses - I still need to stay on top of hydration, for example - but it is DEFINITELY helping. At first I thought I’d try to hack the need for the sterile water bottles but I’d say each one lasts 2 long sessions or 3 normal sessions and for now I’ve decided it’s my health and I’m buying the water bottles. FYI for time users, the machine stays on a short while after you turn it off using the switch to clean itself. Then it automatically for real turns off. Since I am using this in bed, I don’t mind the cord at all. I do want to mention I also bought a small facial steamer on amazon that was way less money than this and at first I thought I’d only keep that - but I can be fully reclined in bed with this unit and can’t with the other, which is awkward to hold. I am keeping both because I need all the sinus help I can get but I’ll just use that one on weekends to steam my face while helping my sinuses, while the purmist is already a part of my daily routine. I recommend it. But I do hope this company considers what a barrier economically that the water can be - its the age of Covid and we are all struggling financially, so don’t make it harder to look out for your health, please. Make an economically-minded huge bottle of sterile water people can buy at a fraction of the price.
