Loosens When Wet
I would recommend wetting it before applying to the trunk. I tightly stretched it on my repaired, damaged tree and when it rained, it had wide gaps and was falling off. It is holding well after re-wrapping the tree after spraying with water. It does not say this on the directions.

Pecans First year yield high, no spraying
We used this wrap and the sticky stuff last year (2020) on our 15 year old pecans that hadn't yielded much yet. We ordered some twine to tie the wrap around the tree, it doesn't stay very well on Pecans without the twine because of the rough bark. We used to spray Sevin but the trees are very tall and difficult to spray, plus Sevin can impact yield if sprayed at the wrong time. With our 20 mature trees, we got about 150 pounds before shelling, which we were very happy with for a first year harvest. We're in the process of applying the wrap and sticky stuff this year as well. It's somewhat of a mess and doesn't stop 100% because of the rough bark, but does an exceptional job. We were very happy with the results.

Does not work
I want to return this item and they won't let me. This does not work with the Tanglefoot goo, do not buy, it doesn't catch a darn thing.

Difficult to work with
I would not buy this product again. When you wrap it around the tree you have to affix it in someway; I used staples and then put on the "goo." At the end of the season you have to take all of the tape off and pull the staples. Messy and time consuming and staples in the bark is not good for small trees. This year I wrapped duct take around the tree (you can even put it sticky side up by affixing a second short "starter" piece of duct tape at the starting poin)t. The duct tape will be much easier to remove. The goo worked very well - capturing hundreds of nymphs; it was not as effective on the adults.
