Reese Towpower 74410 Round Trailer Jack, Side Mount, 1,000 lbs. Lift Capacity, Sidewind, Bolt-On, 10 Inch Travel, 6-Inch Wheel

I mounted this on my cyclone rake. Cyclone provides a steel bar with their jack that attaches to the 2 front holes on the frame but I just drilled into the bar at the front of the engine for my Reese Jack. If you attach the jack on the left side of the frame, the engine is too heavy and will tip the frame over. Centering the wheel jack works just fine. Be sure to drill the right hole to the left of the engine bolt. fyi, the wheel will not be able to be fully turned to lock after attaching to your tractor but it is off the ground and not in the way.

This is one of those rare products that meats all your expectations. It was very easy to assemble/mount. Less than 7 minutes with two wrenches. When I put the bolt through the wheel, I added some grease to the hole inside the wheel so it spins easier. Maybe you'll want to do the same. The side of the jack mount plate that contacts your frame has indentations in it so the jack wont slide around. Nicely thought out. Not cheap china junk barely meeting standards, but well designed and well built. When you screw the jack all the way up, the wheel locks in place so it wont be freely rotating/pivoting around and bouncing off your frame while you drive. When you mount the handle bolt, the bolt has two flat sides so when its inserted to the crank arm, the bolt wont spin while you tighten the nut. Again someone was thinking ahead to make it nice for us. When I put the bolt through the plastic handle, again I inserted some grease so it always spins as easy as it does when its new. My trailer tongue sits very low. I was concerned it wont crank high enough so its short enough to pull the pin and swivel the jack into the down position. But again the jack will crank short enough that I had 2" of extra room before the wheel contact the ground. And I was scared I wouldn't have enough. When you crank the jack handle, the jack telescopes out slowly meaning this is geared very low and can lift a very heavy trailer without straining yourself. This also means on very light weight trailers as mine, you do a lot of effortless cranking to lift it 3" off the ball. I can easily live with that. I picked a jack with a swivel wheel so I could roll it around my garage on the concrete floor once its inside. It works perfectly for this purpose. If you have a heavy trailer, or any trailer, be careful using this on pavement with any slope. Your trailer will take off and start rolling downhill. Beware, this jack will not hold your tailer in place on uneven ground. Rather unusual. I cant find any flaw with this product. The instructions were full and clearly written though I didn't use them and neither will you. Its just too easy to figure out while staring at it for 20 seconds. You just cant put any bolt in the wrong place. It just wont fit. Its idiot proof. Thats why everyone is giving it five stars. Even the idiots like me cant get it wrong.

Works fine with my 13' Scamp. Quality is ok. Nice to have a grease nipple. My trailer has the mounting plate welded to the tongue so I didn't need the bolt one that comes with it.. I was nervous about this one fitting the plate but the hole is exactly the correct diameter. Unfortunately the peg that holds the jack up or down is a smaller diameter than the holes but I can live with it. The snap ring pliers required turned out to be a little hard to find in a typical hardware store. The first pair I bought ($24) was not quite big enough and I broke it trying to make it work. I don't normally buy harbor freight tools but took a $12 chance. They did the job

For those who are unhappy with the wobbly jack the fix is easy and very inexpensive. The problem is not with the jack's construction, it's with the snap ring that connects the swivel to the jack. There is a lot of loose play there because the snap-ring is the wrong size. The groove that it snaps into is quite a bit wider than the thickness of the snap-ring. The solution is to replace the snap ring with the proper size. It's super inexpensive and takes about 2 minutes with snap-ring pliers. The correct size snap-ring can be purchased at amazon. The order came with five rings for $5.23, the price fluctuates daily. If the replacement ring ever begins to wear I will snap in one of the remaining four that came in the pack. It's about a buck a snap-ring with some to spare. After installing the proper snap-ring the jack is solid, as we were expecting from the start. If Reese contracted out this product to another manufacturer the snap-ring size obviously got lost in translation. If you have a digital caliper check it out for yourself and you will come to the same conclusion. I have done the homework already and will post the product info on the snap-ring. This is my second one. I bought the first one at Home Depot but that was a 40 mile drive and Amazon Prime / USPS is a 3 mile drive Therefore a no brainer. The first one was a learning experience where more than one mistake was made before "thinking" became necessary. If you intend to use this one in the dirt gravel or grass, forget it has a wheel. Also remember that these wheels tend to instantly point down hill. Plan your attack by providing a means to lock one or both trailer wheels to prevent launching whatever down hill. Chocks will not be adequate. On an earlier heavy trailer I added a yoke to the jack's wheel axle with a shaft to control the position after the trailer got away from me. You use jack stands to back up a floor jack because you are allergic to being smashed and with a front swivel wheel the issue is downhill self determination. This will happen faster than you think. I use a length of 1/2 inch galvanized pipe to limit wheel rotation as my three acres has no level ground. Such is life on the side of a volcano. Plan ahead. There are other models with inverted mushroom posts that might be more useful to me but they don't swing. Really great for the money.. The wheel is weak and will not survive the usual reason you need a new jack. If you need a new jack because you failed to put it in store position you know what that is all about.. It is a little awkward to install but if you realize that this might be the first time reading the instructions is helpful, some forethought is extremely helpful. Issues are that the crank must clear with hand and elbow room as well as swing storage room before beginning you are on the right track. Selecting the screw holes to be used is also essential and failure to think ahead creates frustration. SWING STORAGE MIGHT NECESSITATE MOVING A WINCH MOUNT POST. OR EVEN A LONGER TONGUE. THAT WAS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE OLDER LONG RANGE VERTICAL NON SWING TYPE.

For the 25 $ I payed for this trailer Jack.I was extremely impressed ! It is very heavy duty and well built.the wheel is huge. twice the size as the ones you get at harbor freight. The only thing I could complaint about is the length of the bolts that hold the back plate on.or I should say the lenght of the threads on the bolts.although I installed it on a 4x8 trailer with. 1.5 inch rails and this jack is probably designed for a wider rail. I had to use flat washers on the bolts with the lock washers that came with it.due to the nut running out of threads to tighten down on. But it was an easy simple fix so I would highly recommend this Jack especially for the price. ( I was not compensated for this review in any way)
