The Greatest Short Stories of Leo Tolstoy : Collectable Edition

Can a story be this great! This leaves me in a state of ecstacy. I could not help but smile wide on these stories. This is much more beautiful than the stories are ever meant to be. This is masterful, wonderful and glorious. All of the stories are similar in nature to the ones my grandmother used to recite to me in my younger days. Infact, i imagine myself reciting these stories to my grandchildren in my older days. The stories are full of moral lessons and wisdom. They provide us an insight into a great deal of deep thinking about topics that have confused humankind for long such as religious mortality, nature of God, existence of God, etc. He has produced a true kind of literary masterpiece. It has got so many generas, the stories as wise, funny, scary and full of life lessons. One of the stories includes an attempt to answer existential questions through being a part of a higher plan. Tolstoy moves through these tough topics such as God, Morality, and existentialism easily by giving examples, metaphors and analogies

Wonderful, deep and profound. 23 short stories, each one has its own flavour, quite a few of them have deep philosophy woven in it. Considered as one of the greatest authors of the world, his short stories are now tempting me to read his acclaimed novels. Tolstoy, apart from being a writer was a religious thinker too and his insights are clearly reflected in his short story- The Coffeehouse of Surat. A great read for me.

Condition (print, front and back cover)- great and very handy , No blank pages Text- easily readable Quality of writing - ( Not started yet )

One of the wisest buys from my recent shopping spree, was to buy this book. Unbeknownst to Russian authors and literature, this not only provides a great insight into the country's literary movement but welcomes you inside he mind of one of the greatest authors who ever lived- Leo Tolstoy! The book is hard to put down. Every story has a great moral, one that you are not bound to forget. A must-buy for all

Tolstoy's super craftsmanship of story writing is beyond words. Godliness in human beings is the best expressed. A storyteller beyond words👌

One feels the greatness of Tolstoy. The beauty of the writing. If only one could read in Russian!

I would like to recommend anybody to read this short story by Tolstoy.

I really love Leo's books many years ago i did read some of his books, but not short stories.

I purchased this for my husband as a Christmas present as he was on a kick listening to Tolstoy short stories and had expressed wanting to physically own some of his favorites. After using and owning this book for nearly a year, there is a little bit of wear and tear showing in the gold foil details, the gold foil is becoming slightly faded in some spots which gives it a vintage look. I like that it has a book mark built-in for ease of finding your spot. Quality collection of short stories, my husband says most of them are religious though not all of them are.
