Something different
It was fun to see it turning faster and faster when it got in direct sunlight! Even overcast it twirls a little. It needs direct sun on it, not just near it.

First one was a dud but second one worked
This design was exactly what I was looking for, a radiometer with a loop to hang from the ceiling.The first one that showed up had places where the black sides weren't quite covered, and it took a LOT of light to spin. I returned it and tried one more time, and the second one worked just fine.I wish they had an option to buy the radiometer without the stand, though. It was more than I really wanted to pay, and I don't plan on using the stand. That might have saved some money.

It spins all dayโ
I have an east exposure. Other photometers only or barely spin with direct sunlight shining on them.A good one as this is will spin with lots of forms of light. Including spinning all day on a bright day near the window. I am getting creative using fishing line and making my own hanging trio to put in my window that WILL spin all day. I tried the other hanging trio and returned it promptly. My nephew and his parents are so happy with this and teaching the history of the Solar Photometer.

A Beautiful Gift
This is such a unique piece. It works well, it doesnโt need direct sunlight and when it is in direct sunlight it spins very fast. Inside the glass hold a vacuum, so I guess it would be fragile.
