Great quick guide for identifying your trilobite fossils
Great quick guide for identifying your trilobite fossils. Contains 41 species profiles and intro to its anatomy. Very helpful. Contains trilobites from the Cambrian through the Carboniferous and all the most common types in North America. Note: since this was published, scientist have separated the American version of the species "Phacops rana" to the new name "Eldredgeops rana" as they were found to have enough differences to be separate species. The old name still pertains to the ones found in Morocco and southern Europe.

Not as good as his Fossil Hunting book, but charming
Burns illustrates most of the common trilobite species and provides some basic factual information. Given that Wikipedia seldom even has art work for many of these species, this book is quite handy just in that the information is present in one simple location. If you can get it cheap, pick it up. Don't kill yourself though to get it.

ALL HAIL THE ARTHROPOD!
This guide is simple, approachable, easy to understand and it has great trilobite sketches.I usually deal with Moroccan trilobites, so a North American guide didn't help me at work. But it was a fantastic survey of all of the body shapes and silhouettes that these sweet simple arthropods exhibited in their heyday.Jasper also gives a great deal of information about the current hypotheses on certain morphological features (I.E. a large glabella is thought to be useful for ingesting sediment for digestion). All around a fun, relaxed journey for fossil lovers at any level.

the line illustrations are clear and a good starting point for identifying trilobites
More of a slim pamphlet than a full-fledged book, the line illustrations are clear and a good starting point for identifying trilobites.

excellent guide for quick identification
This is a great book for a very specific purpose; the identification of north American trilobites. It has great hand drawn pictures that highlight the major features of the genera that may be found and provides concise information on where they may be found and when they lived in the stratigraphic record. If you want to ID trilobites found in north America, this book is for you.

Good book for what it is.
Kind of a short form summary. Good, but could have more details and more species represented.
