As a manufacturer, I've been buying professional steam cleaners for years at several hundred dollars each, only to find that they last just a few years. I switched to one of these about a year ago. They work well enough and I find that it lasts about a year. For the price, I am satisfied with one year's use. Highly recommended.

Before this product, I had two Jewel Jet machines which eventually stopped working after one year respectively. I was in the market for another machine and decided on this one. I clean my diamond rings on a DAILY basis and it does the job well. I only use distilled water as recommended by my jeweler. Remember that you can only clean "hard" stones (i.e., diamonds, ruby, sapphire) and not "soft" stones (i.e., pearls). Refer to Moh's Scale of Hardness for your gem classification. This machine is well-built and a lot of PSI (force) to clean/blow away dirt. It has an on/off switch on its cord. However, there's no automatic turn-off so your machine can get very hot and can burn out if you forget. Overall, this machine is solid, much better than Jewel Jet.

So I bought this to clean my morganite engagement ring. If i had a diamond, I'm sure this would be a fantastic cleaner, but it just honestly did NOT get the job done. And for $100 I was expecting much better results. All in all, it worked well, easy to use. Just doesn't work for what I needed!

I work as a jewelry designer/metal smith and I've wanted to invest in a steamer as a final clean before shipping an item out to clients. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this little steamer. The price is amazing for what you get. I use this immediately after a final polish and any remaining debris from the finishing process is steamed right out. The pressure on this little machine is really impressive. I would definitely recommend this steamer to anyone in the jewelry industry.

I received the steamer a week ago, and just tried it for the first time. When I opened the steamer for a first look, I couldn't see any visible scratches or damage on the exterior, and didn't look inside the water tank until just now, when I needed to use it for the first time. When I removed the steamer fill cap, the threaded part, both inside and outside had a white chalky residue that I thought might be hard-water stains. I then shone a flashlight inside the unit, and to my dismay, there is standing water and mold on the inside. I don't know if this unit was used and returned, or if it was inspected and the water wasn't completely removed. I am trying to start a small silversmithing company, and I need this unit now, so I can't wait for another one to arrive and have a gap where I can't clean my jewellery. I do want to exchange it for another, but can't send it back until another one arrives. Because this item was quite pricey for me, and listed as "new", I am very disappointed. What do you suggest?

This product works. You will need to hold on to your jewellery as it does have good pressure. I think this product could be improved...the knob on the top could be replaced with another device. Otherwise it is work the price.
