I just got this 2.5" deshedding comb because my little Chihuahua has started the shedding of his winter coat....everywhere. He is 7lbs and has a short coat. I only combed my Chihuahua for 2 minutes just to try it out and already have a small pile of fluffy, soft fur. I can't wait to sit with him and fully comb him.The comb has a wood handle and metal teeth. The shape of the handle is curved in a way that makes it very easy to comb. The row of short metal teeth are slightly arched rather than straight across. This allows the comb to reach more of a surface area with each comb through. And the small size of the comb makes combing my small dog much easier as I have tried numerous 'regular' sized dog combs that always feel cumbersome. Using this comb is like vacuuming and getting those perfectly straight lines in the rug. I noticed the short strokes seem to keep all the fur bunched on the comb teeth rather than flying around the room. After I accumulated a little pile I just pulled it off the short teeth in one strip.This comb is reasonably priced. It works wonderfully in just the few minutes I tried it out. I highly recommend this comb.

Comparable to the furminator but better tolerated by our cats. The cat who generally dislikes brushing will tolerate this for a few minutes, which allows me to get a substantial amount of fur off a short-hair cat. The second prefers a different style- his guard hairs are thicker, think main coon, so I suspect it pulls. The third is a fluff ball. Thin cotton-like hair and lots of it. This brush is fantastic for him. I get off a good handful of hair every week and he enjoys it for 10 minutes. Then he is done. The brush has reduced his hairballs significantly.The brush itself feels solid in the hand and is easy to hold. The wood is smooth and pleasant to the touch. It doesn't seem to catch and pull the way the furminator we owned did.

The 2.5in works great for my small cat. I’ve been pulling handfuls of fluff off each brush session. Shockingly, she let me brush her sides with this little tool. I tried it on my schnauzer, but she doesn’t really have an undercoat to shed. It did pull a little amount out, though. It takes a minute to get used to the motions, but other than that it’s completely fine. I don’t agree with the comments about the points being to sharp. You aren’t stabbing the pet, you are running the brush over their fur.

I wish the "teeth" were a little longer for my long haired cat. But, at least she doesn't run when I want to comb her now. Other combs I had used were too big and scared her.

I purposely purchased this because no one said the teeth were sharp. I have to 4 month old kittens with thin hair and my regular brush didn't do the job so I bought this, however given how sharp the points are I'm afraid to actually use this on the kittens. I ran it across my fingers and the teeth were pointy and sharp (like points on a knife sharp). They are sharp enough that if it actually made contact with their skin, it would scrape and cut. I really can't say if it will collect fur because with the points being so sharp I'm not even going to try it now. Maybe when they get older I can try. If you are purchasing this thinking the teeth are not sharp, don't purchase. The teeth are sharp enough to hurt my fingers and hand. I can't imaging what it would do to tender kitten skin. I really wanted to like this product but I can't even try it. Honestly I think if the tips were rounded it would still do the job and that's what I thought I was buying. Sorry.

Our cat has had thick hair since a kitten, and gets groomed with a nubbed glove and a comb, daily. Even so, scratching her for a few minutes left your hand covered in fur. I did not think much about it, but my sister remarked what a difference this desheddder made for her pets, so I tried it. Not only is her fur softer, but I no longer get a handful of fur when petting her.

I have a short haired chiweenie. She was scared the first time I used it but after that she just layed there like she was being petted. I tried it on my arm and its was alittle sharp so I sanded it just a tad and now it's perfect. This comb gets more hair off of my dog than all the other combs and brushes I own. Works great! Its spring now and all your pets are going to shed. You need this!

1st off, let me mke 1 thing clear, if I were able to give 5☆'s on my review regarding the seller alone, then I would hve. But, this is mainly abt the product & me not caring for this grooming tool only! This wasnt wht I had expected. It's too small & whenever I used it on my dog..he didnt like it@all & neither did I. It pulled his hair, but not how u think its supposed to hve done. I hve a shi zu + Maltese mix & they hve very manageable hair, but this just didnt do it for us. But the seller was great, very apologetic & understanding. I will do buisness with them again, if income across something I want thts frm their store. And there weren't any hesitations with refunding my money. So I may not recommend this product, but I absolutely will recommend this seller!!
