The way he conveys his words to its readers is really amazing. So all in all this book is a great help to anyone who wants to improve his skills in public speaking. Review: Best public speaking book I've read - I used to be super nervous when talking in public, and dreaded 'my time to speak'. This book really delivered on making me feel comfortable and confident. I gave talks in front of hundreds of people, and in important business meetings. I still felt nervous before most of these, but I was confident at my public speaking skills. The book alone, of course, is not enough, and practice is ultimately the only way to get over the 'negative' anxiety, but the book helps you understand you're not alone, and provides ample of success stories of people that were much worse off and became proficient public speakers. It offers multiple great techniques and insights, among which my favorite is - if you don't know the material well enough, you have a good reason to feel anxious about the upcoming presentation. There's a simple (though often time consuming) way to deal with it - master the presentation material. I don't believe in 'quick tricks' and shortcuts to success. Instead, I'm a strong believer in hard work that leads to consistently great results. So the techniques in this book strike a chord with me. They just make sense, and if you're serious about improving and willing to work for it, they pretty much guarantee success.

Good book
This will become very handy for me when I will hold speeches in the future. This is a good supplement as for his other book How to win friends! 4 out of 5 stars because I missed a few more researched scientific points, but that’s a personal liking.

Solid lessons in effective public speaking
I first read this book as part of the Dale Carnegie course several decades ago. Recently, my niece (who is an executive at a regional bank) was called upon to be the keynote speaker for a group of 1500 businesswomen. And she was tense about it. I gifted her with this book, and she devoured it. "I've heard so many dull speakers -- and now i know WHY they were so boring!" she told me. The language of "The Quick and Easy Way" is certainly dated, but the principles embodied in it are still sound. If you dread the idea of public speaking -- and most people do -- this book will help you organize your thoughts, offer tips on preparation, and show you how to avoid common pitfalls. Will it turn you into a silver-tongued orator? Probably not. But it *will* help you to be more at ease with your audience, and to have more confidence in your presentation. The best endorsement? One of my niece's colleagues wants to borrow it!

Not "new".
Book was listed as new but was well worn. There were no markings or highlighting found but the cover was not up to "new" standards: creased a bit, a small tear, some normal wear--that kind of things. Not terrible but not new.

Yeah, it's old, but it is full of wisdom
If you can get past the old style writing you'll find gold nuggets throughout this book. While some say to memorize your speech, this book says that it is much better to speak from your heart than to be stick for the next word. Full of examples, reading this will increase your confidence in getting in front of an audience. Forget all the new books about giving speeches. This is all that you need.
