4 Surrounded, Consumed Stars
The Lineup is a full length contemporary sports romance novel by Meghan Quinn. Is it Quinn’s prerogative to establish misunderstood, easy to hate heroines? Aside from Milly in The Dugout, both Emory and Dottie were supremely frustrating for wide amounts of time. The first portion of this book I really disliked her, she treated Jason so terribly and there genuinely seemed no decent reason to excuse it.Dottie Domico is heavy-hitter, she strives to prove a woman’s worth in a man-run world. And, well she ‘knows people’. After having fell victim to a charismatic opportunist not only was heart ravaged, but she disappointed the most important man in her life: her father and boss. She has come to let past deceits twist her morals and character, shaping her into a powerful businesswoman but devastating any trust or openness she has for the dating world or any man.Jason Orsen is most definitely my favorite hero out of the Brentwood U universe. He sets gender norms on a tailspin. He’s manly, goofy, effeminate, kind, and devoted. I absolutely adore a man in touch with his feelings, content in his own masculinity that little things like tears and bro-kisses don’t damage his pride.I really did enjoy this pairing. They’re five and take, and getting to know each other moments were few and I cherished the small glimpses into their growing relationship. I do wish there had been more definition on some defining moments. I cried so effing much reading this. The ending was beautifully constructed, I devoured it whole, and I will cherish their cute and perfect bond.

Meghan Quinn knocked this one out of the park!!
Dottie Domico is a take no prisoner’s kind of woman, she helps run her family’s company and takes great pride in her business. However even though she has a tough exterior, she has a heart of gold and regularly donates to charities. There is one charity she didn’t plan on donating to, but one mix-up and the donation has been sent and then a date has been won. A date with none other than Jason Orson, a major league catcher and a guy that Dottie has crushed on since college.Jason Orson is one of the most handsome and sensitive guys out there. He means business when it comes to baseball, but outside of baseball he’s laid back and loves to help people, which is one of the many reasons why he started his own charity. When Dottie wins a date with Jason through a fundraiser and tries to call it off, he won’t take no for an answer. From then on Jason happily irritates Dottie on the regular, however as the two spend more time together, real feelings develop. However, Dottie hasn’t been necessarily truthful with Jason, when that truth is revealed, will they make it through?Oh Meghan Quinn, you goddess. Honestly, I didn’t think you could top Knox’s story and then you gave me Carson, and I thought for sure nobody could top Carson, but then you gave me Jason. Jason Orson is swoon worthy. He is full of quirks, and he is hilarious, and sensitive, but also can turn into an alpha male. He is the total package. And Dottie, oh my dear sweet hurt girl. She puts on this tough girl exterior, but she’s a sweetie underneath. I absolutely loved watching them come together, and I do mean watched. I felt like this book was a movie playing in my head as I was reading it. I laughed and I cried and everything in between. Meghan painted such vibrant pictures with her writing, and I couldn’t put this one down. Truly one of my all-time favorite Meghan Quinn books.

So good!
This is a perfect enemies to lovers, banter filled, romantic comedy. I literally laughed out loud and was hanging on every word for every one of Jason and Dottie’s “almost” moments. It’s a slow burn but the banter and humor make it all worth while. I highly recommend this funny, sweet, swoony romance. Jason is soft hearted, protective and a dirty talking alpha in the bedroom. The spice takes a while to heat but once it does? Whoa! So good.

Enemies to lovers
With the love-hate romances I want more love than hate. Dottie was a little too mean for my taste, rolling her eyes at Jason even when they’re dating. Her teasing was more disparaging than fun. Even she doesn’t like herself when she’s like that. Once she had that epiphany it would’ve been great if she was actually kinder to Jason and maybe even told him the truth about why she suddenly acted interested in him, but she kept on putting her feelings first. With Jason’s soft heart and unashamedly effeminate tendencies, I just don’t see them working out. I enjoyed Jason. His POV was really funny and made the book worth finishing. He said that he loved her because of her kind and generous heart, but she wasn’t very kind to him and her generosity was mostly writing big checks to charity. I would love for the author to write a character like his again but with a fun-loving heroine.
