I really love the sound as it's not as loud or annoying as many wind chimes.I had the same problem as another reviewer where top was crooked, but fixing that was a simple matter of adjusting the strings a little. The factory packaging is just a clear plastic bag and Amazon shipped it in an un-padded plastic envelope. It was not damaged in shipping, but it easily could've been.I bought this to replace a very similar chime I bought in Hawaii in 1996. This one is nearly identical in size, design, materials, and sound. The old one hung on my patio for 24 years where it received 6 to 8 hours of direct afternoon sun every day in the Phoenix heat before the top circle finally broke.If you are planning to hang it where it gets a lot of intense direct sunlight, I would highly recommend a thin coating of linseed oil every year on all of the wooden parts for protection. Otherwise, the wooden parts will turn gray in color and split.

It has a warm pleasant sound, similar to xylophone, and it brings me a feel of the tropical island. It is not noisy at all and I like it because I don't have to worry about my neighbors getting annoyed by it.It is very durable and nothing is broken after some windy days. It has a smooth edges and nice carved motifs on the bamboo. It is beautiful.

If you don't want to irritate the neighbors, get these. Just a low bamboo chime that takes a fair breeze to activate. Not loud, like the steel Gregorian chimes.They look pretty and seem well made. There is a piece that hangs well below the wind chime that it not pictured in the photo. Just a piece of bamboo. Don't cut the thread when they arrive, that is not packaging.

i purchased these for gift for family member,, after receiving them and hearing the amazing sound of NOT driving you crazy like many windchimes,, these are more like "relaxation" and very well built. I bought TWO more, one for my husband and I and another for my sister in law for Christmas. ONLY tip, they do recommend you use varnish seasonally.. so may want to put that in your basket as well :D

This is actually prettier than it looks in the picture. The pattern on the tubes reminds me of feathers. When you first get this out of the package and shake it, it doesn't sound that great - figured out later that was because I was shaking it too hard. Once I hung it outside though, I was quite pleased. The gentle tinkle as the wind moves through it is lovely. Can't say how durable it is since I've only had it about a month, but no issues yet.

They have a nice calypso sound. It's hard to find wooden chimes locally year round. Fast delivery and well made. Takes a little more wind than usual but look at what the wind has to move and you will see why. Still nice sound though. Go ahead. It's worth it.

I very much like the bamboo wind chime. It’s the sound I was looking for. I’d buy it again if needed. Packing was intact and packed properly. Good job people. I’m very satisfied. Thank you.

It is a lovely design and deceptively sturdy, but there has to be almost hurricane strength winds to make it chime. So, while it looks great. it is so light and small that it kind of defeats its only purpose.Oh well...
