Excellent - but headphones let it down
REALLY pleased with this, although I admit it took me a while to work how to use the "intuitive" click-wheel. I must be a bit thick. Once I figured that out though, it's just brilliant ! The iPod mini is even smaller than I was expecting - it's so tiny ! Sound quality is good (with MP3 at 128k), but improved noticably by substituting the tacky white "Please mug me, I have an iPod in my pocket" earphones with a pair of Sonys I had left over from a 35 quid walkman bought about 10 years ago. In my opinion, this is either a case of form coming before function, or Apple are serioulsy short-changing buyers with these poor quality 'phones on a product costing not far short of 200 hundred pounds ! But let's be fair, 'phones aside, this is an astounding product and I would recommend it to anyone who can "make do" with 4GB of space (I managed to get about 1000 MP3s on there at 128k).

Older tech that still works "as advertised"!
I got a "used" one at "a steal" of a price. Though battery life is not as great as in newer tech (it has to power a hard-drive), I have been able to load the relatively small 4Gb capacity with enough music albums that it would take me weeks to listen to them all.

ipod mins are overpriced brandnames
This is in itself a good mp3 player. When compared though to some other mp3 players you realise its very bad value for money.Compare it to the creative labs jukebox zen xtra. That mp3 player has no apple brandname BUT it has a 30GB hard drive for only ---£169.99!!---.thats £5 less for 25GB more.I'm going to let you do the math and buy the better mp3 player with this info i've just given you.find the creative labs jukebox zen xtra here-http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001DFXY4/qid=1100122865/sr=1-or run a search for creative labs in electronics section with the amazon search bar.

Used Ipod
It was sold as secondhand and less than half price of a new ipod, so I should have known that it would not perform as well as new. The battery life is poor and I have to use it with a lead with my ipod speakers as the docking slots do not connect properly. This means it will not charge when being used and with a poor battery life, frustrating. The memory and reproduction seem fine. The body is scratched but to be expected. I should have bought new.

Both good and bad...
Excellent software for ripping and importing / exporting your tracks. Well made player but the storage capacity is too small. Battery life is quite poor. MUCH better value is the Creative Zen Touch. iPod is very popular but it's more a branded fashion item than a great player. Over-rated to the extreme.

Mean Green Jammin' Machine
I got this only yesterday and I have already imported all of my songs onto it! It's got a sleek metal green casing with a white click-wheel - it comes with a belt clip, a Firewire cable (Mac), a USB 2.0 cable (PC), charger, earbuds, software (iPod software and the latest iTunes), and a users guide. The packaging is also fantastic when you first get your iPod mini and it all unfolds. I also bought the dock to make charging and syncing easier. There is planty of space too - around 4gb (slightly less if you add options and notes etc. - see the Apple website to find out more about saving lithium-ion battery power and replacement batteries) and if anything goes wrong I have a 1 year warranty.Good buy - worth it for the price.
