Second Best Scarecrow in MTG - Part of a Two-Part Infinite Mana of Any Color Combo
The only Scarecrow better than Pili-Pala is Painter's Servant. Not even Reaper King beats Pili-Pala. This is all due to its part in the infinite mana combo that can be had when combined with Grand Architect. And if you also have an Azure Mage, then you pretty much will win the game. Naturally, there are plenty of other insta-win combos that can be had with the Pili-Pala + Grand Architect combo, but few are more fun than drawing your entire library and playing every permanent in there in the order you wish, not to mention any relevant Instants or Sorceries, in a single turn. If you do this, make sure you have a Feldon's Cane and/or an Elixir of Immortality. When you discard down to seven cards, chances are the discarded cards will only be land. Before your next turn, you want to shuffle your graveyard into your library so you can get the remaining permanents and any Instants and Sorceries you want access to on your next turn. This is where having the Elixir is good - or certain Eldrazi cards - is handy, since they just keep recycling your graveyard into your library. There are other ways to get infinite mana, but few can be done with just two permanents, and fewer that give you mana of any color.
