This goes on like a toner, very lightweight and water-like in texture. My skin drinks it up instantly. It's very hydrating. Pure centella asiatica is great for soothing an inflamed skin barrier. If you have dry skin you'll want to seal it in with a moisturizer or a moisturizing spf. There is no detectable odor and it's fragrance-free. It's a very simple but effective product. When I overdo it with actives like tretinoin or AHAs, I can count on this being a soothing step to support my skin barrier health and give my skin a nice glow. This ends up being a great value for the size of the bottle. It lasts a good while. I use this on my face now but I originally got it to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. Stetch marks are largely genetic, and most designated stretch mark creams don't do much to prevent them. However, centella asiatic is one of the only ingredients that did better at reducing stretch marks than the placebo group in a clinical study. It's not a miracle product but it has more supportive data than typical cocoa butter recommendations. I ended up losing the pregnancy so I can't say whether it would have worked for me personally, but for those who didn't know it can be used for that purpose.

I have oily (sometimes combo), sensitive, acne prone skin and sometimes I tend to get what I can only describe as contact dermatitis on areas of my face when I use too many actives or antioxidants or sometimes my skin will just become (for whatever reason) overly sensitive. I’m assuming this is the result of disruption to my skin barrier. Sometimes I’ll just feel my face burning throughout the day (and getting all red) if I used an acid or retinoid the night before and i use a serum or spf that has too many antioxidants in the morning. Some areas will just get steadily itchier, redder, and flakier if I continue using anything even remotely “anti-aging.” Unfortunately, it usually heralds the start of an endless cycle of irritation because by then EVERYTHING irritates my skin! You wouldn’t believe how much $$$ I’ve wasted on products that are supposed to help and prevent this (none of it ever works!). This drives me crazy not only cause it can become itchy and flaky (even hydrocortisone cream will irritate it when it gets to this point) but because I just want it to heal and go away already so I can go back to using normal skincare and maybe even some actives (stuff I used to be able to use with no problems whatsoever!!!). Anyways this centella stuff is AMAZING cause it seems to stop the irritation in its tracks! No more redness, no more flakes, NO MORE BURNING! It also somehow moisturizes my skin without making it oily or leaving any residue! It does more than that though: for the first time in my life, my skin actually looks balanced and normal! I’ve used products with centella before (even other skin1004 products) and was never particularly impressed with it (in fact I was convinced it irritated my skin!), but I swear, this ampoule stuff works like magic! It applies like water but don’t be fooled! I can finally go back to using my normal skincare now! And this stuff has actually made a huge difference in how my skin both looks and feels! I didn’t realize that it was perpetually irritated until it suddenly wasn’t anymore. I will never go without this stuff again!

This product grew on me. At first, I didn’t see what was so special about it. But it feels so nice and cooling on rosacea flare up days, and it is very moisturizing without any oiliness. Also, the bottle is HUGE for this kind of product. Definitely recommend.

After incorporating it into my daily routine, my face’s skin feels awesome—it’s noticeably more supple, calm, and hydrated throughout the entire day. The consistency is perfect for layering, and it feels like a really high-quality, pure addition to my bathroom counter that genuinely delivers on that refreshing, healthy glow I was looking for. The only real drawback to consider is that because the formula is so lightweight and watery, it can be slightly tricky to dispense exactly the right amount without it running off your fingertips. The dropper is functional, but you have to be quick and deliberate about applying it to your skin before it drips away, which can be a little annoying if you are rushing during your morning routine. It is a wonderfully effective, soothing product, but it definitely requires a bit of practice to master the application so you don't end up wasting any of the serum.

I feel so luxurious and chic whenever I use this. I feel like a princess. It helps heal my skin after I use more abrasive acne products, so it makes me feel safer using this. I use this alongside the Joseon Beauty Dynasty Cream. I want to describe using the product more because it genuinely surprised me. The bottle itself feels dense, strong, and durable. The squeeze part of the bottle is an incredibly genius design, please thank your product engineers for this~ Specifically the syringe part, the end point is at an angle, so the product doesn't accidentally drip out as you are putting it on or holding extra in it. Love the design of the bottle and every component, and super effective product at the same time. If I could, I'd buy more skincare products from this company, if every product had the same feeling the bottle has.

Skin1004's Madagascar Centella Ampoule is one of my all time favorite skincare products. It's so simple yet so effective, essentially just a mix of water, hydrating glycerin, and soothing, calming centella asiatica extract. I use this first after washing my face, just dripping it directly onto my skin, patting it in slightly, and letting it soak in before moving on to my next step. The difference for me is immediate; I can literally see the redness and skin inflammation disappear from my face as this soaks in. I didn't believe that anything could get rid of my redness and skin irritation, but this does. For the past month, I use this twice a day and really drench my face with it, and the large bottle is still over 2/3 full, so it's a great value for me. I love the light, watery consistency and non-sticky, non-greasy texture. It feels like wearing nothing, yet it helps me so much. I highly recommend trying this essence. It definitely deserves all the hype that it gets.

One of the best serums I have used till date. I recently got some dryness and heavy inflammatory reaction on my face and when I purchased it, it was purely on the luck basis. But after having used for more than 15 days this serum has helped with my skin redness, and inflammation. My face feels normal due to which I could restart my skin care routine.

Did not get any breakouts at all while I used this. Very gentle on the skin but also watery so if you're looking for something stronger then this is not for you.
