Levy has the touch.
Some authors innately have "it," the right touch, an ambiance that immediately grabs the reader. He describes deep, meaningful love so genuinely well, along with telling a story that keeps readers turning the pages, guessing which ending he'll choose. I look forward to reading more of Levy's books, and have already started another of his novels. The way he drew his protagonist, an extension of himself I could tell, prompted me to google him. The interview (with photos) confirmed everything I garnered about his personality through his character Arthur. Levy is a renaissance man, a kind, interesting and well-informed man of the world. A kindly, good man. They type that are difficult to find. A person of good karma, and therefore, I am even happier to learn of his success. I look forward to reading all of his books. Thank you Marc Levy for wonderful entertainment and intelligent, interesting reading. P.S. I just read Publisher's Weekly's review, above. Apparently your reviewer was skimming the novel. The female love interest was not a nurse - she was a resident doctor. Also, the reviewer stated "Levy has no ear for American speech," I thoroughly disagree with that assessment. He's as fluid in understanding American nuance as I. I suggest Publisher's Weekly keep checking that reviewers work. It needs a great deal of polishing. (And no, I do not know Levy personally.)

Cute Story.
I understand this is the author's first book, so I can overlook the need for better editing. I did enjoy the story, as it was slightly different than the movie, Just Like Heaven, which I loved and bought on DVD years ago. The story dragged in places, so it wasn't a total page turner for me. It took me a long time to read it through as I read a few pages at a time. I thought the plot was imaginative and different, the characters were well thought out and written. It's a good first book. I have another book by this author so I'm looking forward to seeing an improvement in his writing and editing.

If only it were true
I saw the movie Just Like Heaven and was reading the credits that it was based on a book by Marc Levy. As soon as I finished watching the movie. I bought the book on Amazon. I laughed and I cried and was amazed and spellbound. I had to read it to the end. Great read!

Close to 5 and then something happened
So the first half of this book had me laughing with tears. Yes they did make a movie based on this story, and that movie differed from this book in a few minor and a couple of more major ways. The second part of the book just made no sense probably why the movie did not use that part. No question the author is talented. I have read 4 or 5 of his books and enjoyed them. I did not dislike this book or the basic plot. The kidnapping of the body and the police investigation and the wrap up plus ending was not satisfactory enough for more stars. Do read other books by this author though; he is quite good as he has progressed writing.

Illustrates a different American experience.
I didn't know what to expect with a free or nearly free book, but it was very good. Well written, and just all around enjoyable story of Indians coming to America. The road is always bumpy for immigrants.

Faith, Hope, and Love Abide
This fantastical fable of love . . . and hope . . . is contingent on faith that one’s spirit lives with or without a physical body. For those of us who embrace this spirituality, Arthur’s ability to believe Lauren’s account, and his eventual love for her, give us a heart-warming and entertaining reading experience. (The 2005 movie adaptation “Just Like Heaven” takes liberty with the details of the novel; but, Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo do the story justice.)

Fantastic! More please!
This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and my soul has been touched. The first was the Strange Journey of Alice Pendelbury. After reading that I had to read more. But it was no fluke, this man brings out thoughts and feelings I didn’t realize still existed in me. You must do yourself this favor and read his books!!

If Only It Were True.
A lovely little romantic fantasy novel, the first book by Marc Levy, subsequently adapted for the screen as “Just Like Heaven”.It`s a relatively short book – you`ll read it in a day – and it`s really quite an absorbing and fairly moving wee tale; not quite the same as the movie, but as the original source this provides a rather more rounded out version – arguably superior, certainly different.Well worth your time even if you`ve seen the film version.

Not that great
I was quite excited for the book as it is based on Just like heaven which is my favorite movie. But the book i received was untidy and some stain on the cover so that didn't give good feeling. Also, the book is written very simply, one should stick to the movie that is enough. I, infact didn't read the full book only half of it

Captivating tale
"If Only It Were True" is a heartwarming love story impossible to forget, an adventure that is by turns breathtaking and hilarious -- a captivating tale that evokes the essence of romance and our boundless capacity to believe.I've read it twice because I loved it since I began reading. It's as original as easy so I recomend it.
