Good alternative to 'cone of shame' but comes with some caveats
My 15 lb Silky Terrier tore his CCL and was sent home with the clear plastic cone. Like many other reviewers, he would not tolerate the cone, at all. We tried the inflatable collar and found he tolerated it but it didn't extend past his snout. He could still get to his stitches but offered some 'resistance' to licking. We were worn out and about give up hope when we came across this protective sleeve. We ordered the small-short sleeve, and the fit was just right. Like others, we used his soft harness to attach the neck ties. Tying around his neck or collar was not an option due to his narrow wind pipe. There is some initial adjustment required for the neck and hip ties to make sure it doesn't gap open when sitting or isn't too tight when laying down. You do have to keep adjusting the ties as they tend to loosen up when stretched or from activity. My Caveat: this should not be viewed as a replacement for the cone if your dog really wants to lick their incision. If motivated, they'll probably find a way to lick around the inside section of the sleeve or remove it all together. As an extra precaution, we placed a large band aid on the outside of the sleeve directly over his wound, and keeps the sleeve dry from any saliva. The sleeve has greatly discourage licking, but when he's not in our sight, we put the inflatable collar on as an extra precaution. Overall, pleased with the performance and fit. If you dog is closely monitored, this provides an effective and dog friendly way to reduce stress and lesson the chance of infection or re injury. As some have mentioned, I would like to see an option where both legs are covered in a pants or suit type style. This would prevent the risk of falling off or gaping. FYI, a recovery suit is available on Amazon, search for Buckwheat Recovery Wear for Dogs.

**DO NOT PURCHASE** Doesn't fit, and breaks within two days **DO NOT PURCHASE**
I used the measuring chart exactly as directed. My dog was exactly in the middle of size medium. Ordered a medium. It was WAY to big. Returned and immediately ordered a small. Have not received a refund for the first one yet after a week. Received the small, fit well, (should be way too small according to the size chart). Within two days the straps broke and it fell off. Terrible product, Terrible service, Terrible quality, Terrible information

It was kind of wonky
We tried it on our old poodle and she always wiggled out of it. We tried 50 ways of tying it on her. Maybe good for a sedated dog but not an active one.

So soft and comfortable!!
My baby had knee surgery and in January in the ice and snow. This has been such a blessing as it is so soft and comfortable and so easy to get on and off. She does not mind it at all! Her leg is warmer and the stitches are protected while she heals. No need for that awful cone. I am so grateful I found this!

Worked great
Worked great, tied the neck strap to a harness which made it stay on better. Much better than a cone of shame

Great idea, but material is too light for dogs that chew
The design of this is great. It fit my Doxiepoo perfectly. However, the material did not hold up as my dog is an aggressive chewer. After just one afternoon of wear, he had almost chewed it off. We reinforced the product by sewing on blue jean material and hoping it lasts a little longer.

Perfect for a cat’s post op luxating patella surgery
Amazing for a cats recovery from luxating patella surgery!! We tried onesies and recovery suits, but the opening on the inner thigh of those garments was too low and our cats knee could be seen/slip out when he laid on his side (which is his position 90% of the time after surgery since he doesn’t use the leg that got operated on within this first week). This is the only garment that goes completely up his inner thigh so there is zero access to his knee cap incision when he is laying down or has his leg stretched out while grooming. It also ties at the waist + neck so it is very difficult for his to move the cloth covering to the side with the addition of a pillow e collar. I love that it is breathable cotton fabric that has zero compression as his stitches are fresh, only 5 days post op, and the incision needs to be able to have air flow for proper wound healing. We ordered a Small, regular length for reference. Originally ordered a XS, but the width of his thigh was to big. So I would say measure the leg length and order up a size if in between sizes for a cat! Thank you for making this product!

Absolute garbage and dangerous for the dog
This item is useless and dangerous. First, it doesn’t stay properly on the dog’s leg and constantly gets the paw. Second, you are supposed to tie it around the dog’s neck which is a hazard. The dog could easily get tangled in it and suffocate to death. This shouldn’t even be allowed to be sold.
