Kootek 12" Silver Aluminum Alloy Cake Turntable, Cake Stand for Decorating

I use this as a pottery banding wheel, cuz if you know pottery you know those brand-name banding wheels are stupid expensive. This seemed like a nice alternative and it IS. Movement of the platform is very, very smooth, the aluminum wipes off clean easily, the heavy base keeps the entire thing planted where I put it, no moving around on me. I use it for applying glaze and also to hit the glaze coats with a heat gun. It's holding up beautifully. My only objection is I wish I had paid a bit more attention to the size -- this is maybe 4-5" wider than I was used to and if I ever have reason to reorder (which I cannot imagine, this will likely outlast me), then I'd find one slightly smaller.

I’m really happy with this cake turntable. It feels sturdy and well-made, and it rotates smoothly, which makes decorating cakes much easier. The non-slip base keeps it stable while I’m working, and the 12-inch size gives me plenty of space. The aluminum surface is also easy to clean. Overall, it’s a great tool for cake decorating and I’m very pleased with it!

Rotates well, nice weight, nice color, great non-slip pad on bottom. The only con is it is it could be an 1inch or 2 higher underneath to allow your hand to move it freely. As it is, the space from the turntable to the table is a bit small. It works, but could be better. I have the cast iron bottom Ateco that i 4.75 inches from work surface top turntable, which is much nicer. What I did not like on the ateco was the actual turntable itself as it was a thin piece for the turntable with 4 plugged holes that were a little rough. But it is the state of the art turntable for professionals. What I love about the Kootek is the actual turntable, moves as well, has marks for centering, and is beautiful if you choose to serve from it. I like having both turntables, sometimes you need both for an important occasion. The Kootek is a very nice turntable whether you are a professional baker/decorator or a home baker/decorator. I don't regret buying it. It is much nicer in person than I anticipated. The turntable top is stunnng. The entire table is made to provide form fit and function at its best. Not only does it turn like a dream, but it looks great while doing it. Just make it about 1-2" taller and it will be more than Perfect! I would buy it again, gift it, recommend it. It came highly recommended by a noted reviewer of baking tools. Of course the Ateco comes out the best due to its height and it has been around for years. But I must add, because of that review I looked at this one also. I purchased the Ateco, did not like the actual turntable top, but it i the best of the best. However, I am really impressed with the quality, looks, and function of this table. It works on par with my Ateco, the table spins as well. You can use this for pottery, cake decorating, painting, any crafting where you need a "spinner" to get the job done. This one is beautiful as well as serviceable.

Used to frost a double chocolate cake. Really looks nice and worked very well. So much fun to frost a cake now.

Perfect for those heavy cakes. I'm in love with this. I was hesitant to spend so much money but it is totally worth it. No more rough spinning which made it really annoying to ice my cakes on the turntables I previously owned.
