Really good, sturdy, sharp knife.
I like that it is American made. Also it is well balanced and good at slicing, chopping etc.

I was expecting more for what I paid.
I was expecting more. I was fooled with the cool name and made in The USA claim. I should have pulled the trigger on the Japanese knives I really wanted. Didn't show up nearly as sharp as I was expecting and I have to work on them quite a bit to keep the edge and sharpness. I'm regretting the purchase and in the next few months I'll ditch them for a good Japanese set. They look good but they really aren't what a kitchen knife should be in regards to the edge they claim to have.

Wanted to Like, But I Don't
These knives are beautifully made and appear to be everything that good knives should be. They are carbon steel, so they do have to be washed and immediately dried by hand. No worries there. The large chef's knife is by far the best of the three, and is a pretty good knife, but the other two are odd to say the least. They seem sharp enough, but they perform like really, really dull knives...as some other reviews have said. After using them for a few months, I've come to the conclusion that the blades are too wide for the cutting edge such that when pressing down there is just too much width of the metal to push through whatever is being cut. I bought these for our motor home. I cook a lot even when we are on the road, and I wanted some good knives that were American made. My knives at home are Wusthof, but I didn't want to spend the money to buy such high end knives for our "camper". Now, I wish I'd either bought some throw-away cheaper knives, or gone whole hog and bought three of the same knives I use at home. One way or the other, I would have been happier. Eventually, I will replace the two smaller knives in this set with something else. As is, they are annoying and dangerous to use.

Fantastic knife for the price
Edit: 6 months later and this thing is still razor sharp. The angle of the grind and the thickness seems to retain the edge. I did leave a few water drops on it which caused some minor rust, but it buffed out. Still my go to, and still a tank.Fantastic knife! Arrived sharp and the build quality is solid. Compared to the Victorinox 8" chef (which always wins best knife awards), its a much nicer knife to use. The blade is thicker, but the angle/grind on it makes chopping veggies and meat a breeze. It's not heavy, but has heft to it so you can let the weight of the blade do most of the work. The blade has a nice undercut for you finger, which locks it in if you use a pinch grip.Few things to note - the handle is more round then rectangular, so if you like an ergonomic feel (like the victorinox) you might be disappointed. I prefer this shape, since it promotes a pinch grip but to each their own.The instructions also say that it's dishwasher safe which seems like a TERRIBLE idea for a high carbon steel blade (which this is). Just please never put your chef knife in the dishwasher.Overall, this is a killer knife at an amazing price. It's become my go-to for almost all kitchen duties.

Beautiful knife!
I purchased this knife as a birthday gift for my wife, she loves to cook and spends a lot of time in the kitchen. She really loved it! It's beautifully-crafted and comfortable to hold, plus we love that it's made in the USA! We'll be buying more from this company and highly recommend their products.

Not What I Had Hoped
I bought this knife to replace one that I had had for a few years that I had left behind at a vacation rental. This time I decided to buy and American made knife.Well, it is sharp but not as sharp as the one that was a few years old when I left it behind.I noticed the difference when I cut a tomato. There was noticealbe resistance to the blade whereas the old knife, even after years of use, cut through without any resistance.I'm going to keep it and see if I can get it sharper by using a wet stone on it.If that doesn't work I'll just give it to someone and buy one from a different supplier.
