Pitman and Idler arms have been an inherent wear problem within the steering systems of Chevy and GMC trucks & SUVs for decades. The Cognito PISK (Pitman & Idler Arm Support Kit) replace the problem components that plague factory and aftermarket steering systems on several models and years of GM trucks & SUVs. These improvements are accomplished through application of Cognito's innovative, patented design, by providing additional support to the vehicles pitman and idler arms, which eliminate the forward and rearward movement of the center-link. *Kit includes all necessary mounting hardware. Made in the USA. NOTE: Only for use on stock height or lifted vehicles with the factory center-link in the stock location.

Worth it
I installed this after driving about 2500 miles after replacing pitman arm, idler bracket and arm, upper ball joints, steering box and inner and outer tie-rod ends on my 2008 Chevy 2500 4x4 duramax, because I wanted to see what the difference would be with and without it. Installation took about an hour for me, give or take. Fit and finish on the parts is pretty dang good. Made a huge difference in the ‘feel’ of the steering and it has truly never felt this tight and solid, not even when it was new (truck has 300k in it now). It eliminates much of what you used to feel in the wheel when the suspension would cycle. In my opinion, this will be well worth the price and effort to install over time.

Good quality
Went together well. Good quality stuff, but not cheap. Makes steering feel tighter...but from a response and frictional standpoint.

What a difference this kit makes
perfect fit for my 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD duramax 4x4 ex cab shortbed, changed a few other items as well.. tie rods and 1 upper ball joint and new shocks and tires and its like a new front end, Got an alignment and wow it drives straight and brakes straight too no more wobble and crazy steering juggling going on. It was an easy install with the write tools and impact took about 2 hrs total.

I would purchase again.
I have a lly duramax. Really added tightness to steering. Highly recommend. I have moog pitman arm and it seems that there is very little space to add this brace on steering box spline so this caused a star subtraction. Almost didnt do it but I got it almost flush. Hasn't budged after about 5000 miles and I'll update if it fails. Throwing grease on the ball and socket joint when I'm lubing the rest of the truck seems to make it a bit smoother and I'm sure will add to the life.

Great product to eliminate the play in the relay link ...
Great product to eliminate the play in the relay link of the steering. Easy to install after you get your pitman arm nut off... I have 170,000 miles on the truck and the steering now feels superior especially on the highway. Note: You should replace your pitman arm and idler arm with quality parts while you working in that area anyway.

Everything lined up perfect.
Already had the Cognito Pitman arm Support . It had broken from when ever the previous owner of my truck have it installed . Judging by the looks of the old one, it must have been on there for some years. With the right tools and know how. Everything lined up perfect.

put these in on the ground with weight on wheels. should have put on hyst, makes way easier. the truck has a 6 inch lift & made it so we could do an alignment, now the truck drives GREAT!
