It works great but as it comes it will quickly start making lots of noise. Take it apart by taking the screw out and fill the big end the spring is in and all in and around the spring with vasoline (petroleum jelly). This makes it totally silent. Watch what goes where as you take it apart.

I like this because it was very easy to install and adjust. It’s funny how you find one of the smallest thing to bring such happiness. Now I will have to buy plenty more for my other doors

I put this on my bathroom door, which is a standard hollow core door. It will push it closed but not strong enough to make it latch which was my goal. I could see this for a screen door but not much else.

It does the trick. Just a little noisy. Hopefully it will hold up.

Broke apart when installing.. it's strange though, because I got the first one working perfect. This was a repeat order and it failed miserably

Easy install, Adjustable strength.

I was tired of yelling at kids to close door going in and out. This was such an affordable option, I didn't think it would work. But, the function is fantastic. Easy for one person to install. We have a very heavy exterior door and it is strong enough to close it in a gentle manner, not slam it. I can also leave enough slack to leave the door ajar so the dogs can push their way in, but it hold the door closed against the wind. Coulndt' be happier with this product!

I was skeptical, especially at the price, but the this design is far better than the old piston and chain closers. Basically a spring presses on a bar that presses on a door. Simple physics. Few moving parts.Word of caution. Ignore the directions. Contrary to what they say, the arrow doesn't mean anything and the closer may not install on the jamb. Simple rule is whatever side the door opens to, that's where the closer goes. I had to put mine on the outside trim. It may also have to go backwards and upside down from what the directions indicate.Also, the silver bar is so you can pull the spring back and insert the white bar - not clear in the directions.

At first i thought this item was great.. it did what i needed it to, however, after the first few days it started to squeal a little, so I got out the trusty hinge lube and it helped.. for abouy 48 hrs and then it started squealing again only this time it was more like growling... very very loud like.. no amount of ajusting or lubrication helped.. in a house with 6 people sleeping at night was touch and go when my room is right beside the bathroom where we have it installed... nope... just nope... took it down. We will have to find another way to help our pooch not get trapped in the bathroom at night... because this worked... just LOUD with no resolution.

The package claim that it can close up to 56 pound, i wanted it to close my basement door that is hollow core, probably 25pound door. This unit can close it verry slowly and there no way that it will shut the door completly. The door is verry easy to move and close by hand so i would say thats not it. Tryed to preload the spring by 1 hole everytime, after 6 it have just stop working. The package say not to crank it too much, what is too much exactly ? how hard would it be to say max preload of 3 hole or whatever ? I will try to fix the unit myself its actually just the spring that unhooked from the inside, but it will end in the trash bin where it belongs.Verry disapointed with that buy, had high hope for it. Probably the bigger 150pound unit would work, the idea is neat. didnt want a closer too strong so that the kids would not be able to open the door

Very easy to install and works great! I needed a way to keep my boy dogs out of my basement so they don’t “mark” on my children’s toys but I have kids running around who always leave the door open. This product was exactly what I needed and works amazing. Saves me a lot of stress about always going to check to see if it’s closed or the stress and labor of finding my dogs got down there and I have more mess to clean. This product has saved my sanity.

This product was fine for a couple of months and then it starting to make a weird noise , sounds like a spring inside it make some kind of grinding noise , very annoying , every time someone opens the door especially at night it makes a lot of noise .I bought it because I have purchased very similar looking product at a local Lowe’s store and those are working great after 3 years , this Amazon one not so much , the quality isn’t there .I would recommend to get it at your local hardware store .

Practico cierra puertas. Ni en homedepot ni en ninguna ferretería los encuentra uno. Solo perforas 2 hoyos, 2 taquetes y 2 tornillos medianos y solucionas el problema en cuartos de alacenas, baños o espacios que tienen que tener privacidad. Me salieron muy baratos y en 5 minutos ya los había puesto.
