After a few years of use, my flash drive gave up on me that I was using as a FreeNAS boot drive. I wanted to move on from flash memory, for better reliability, and since my MOBO had an M.2 slot in it, why use up a precious SATA port. This little M.2 SSD fits the bill, with being not much more cost than a flash drive, with hopefully better reliability.Products like this exist for certain scenarios such as mine, rejuvenating an old PC, or other non-high performance-related needs. Just don't give it a bad review if you bought it for a gaming PC, or are seeking Windows boot time records. That is not what this drive is meant for, and although it will work, it is not going to do very well at a task that it was not designed for.

A lot of MSATA slots including the one in my old Thinkpad max out at SATA II speeds. This means gaming on this SSD or using it as temp/scratch space for video editing introduces a lot of lag. On the plus side it's perfect for storing videos, images, archives, and documents. If you happen to have a slot you aren't using there's no reason not to add more storage.

This SSD is a great solution for upgrading an older computer or laptop. Add an enclosure to it and it makes a good external drive for backing up your data.

Stuck this in my PS4 cause CoD:CW is massive, and gaming on 500GB is not ideal. Works amazing and really fast load times are noticeable

For my build, I put Win 10 on this and stopped using HDD’s for my OS as 10 loves to burn up hard drives. Since moving over to ssd the OS runs much better. I have my games and Steam account on another drive and use my old hard drive for bulk storage (Photos, music, videos, etc).

I needed a cheap mSATA HDD for a mini PC I had, as the unit I bought second hand came without one, alas the mini PC had a fault & wouldn't detect\read the drive.So it ended up going into my general purpose laptop, originally as additional storage, but decided to put a second copy of Windows 10 Pro & Office 2019 on it instead. The laptop now boots into one of two versions of Windows 10 depending on personal use or going to work or allows me to install dummy\trial software & roll back to an earlier point. without flooding my personal copy of Windows 10 with unwanted software.Speed is on a par with the primary 2.5" SSD fitted. Good value for money, given where it ended up I wish I'd sprung for the larger capacity unit, but that would have been overkill for the original purpose.

My old but still powerful PC was struggling a little with my new video editing hobby. It had a 32gb version of this mSATA drive, which was useless. Popped that one out and put this one in. Bingo, it just works.One word of caution: the supplied screws have the smallest Phillips gauge on them that I have ever seen. I didn't have a screwdriver small enough, and I have small screwdrivers. So keep the old screws if you have them!

Worth the upgrade for my Chomebox that i installed Windows 10 with!!! Speed wise seems to be ok! having no problems yet!

Arrived quick, popped this 512GB m.2 into my older laptop HP 840 and it works great so far
