This hit home and so many levels
This book hit home on so many levels it is absolutely unreal. My mother always made excuses for my father and how he acted. In this book I am the black sheep my brother is the Lost child and my sister is the golden child even though she feels she is the lost child and my brother feels he’s lost child. I gave it to them both to read because we all suffered under his wrath and are still dealing with years upon years of mental torment and torture and PTSD this book was an eye opener to help understand part of why my father is the way he is. Some Of which I can never forgive him for. But this book really did help me and helped my brother and my sister thank you sincerely to the author it meant the world

This is a must read if your life has been adversely impacted by a narcissistic father figure
This is a well written book that explains the dynamics between a father/daughter father/son and what goes wrong with the family dynamics when the father figure has narcissistic tendencies. In addition to offering insight into the mind of a narcissistic father, the author also provides information on how to heal from and break the patterns of such abuse. No matter your age, this is a lovely book that offers insightful information allowing one to heal and move on from this sort of childhood abuse.

Very helpful
This book has a lot of truth in it, it’s a very helpful read. I wish it had more suggestions for healing but there were some very helpful insights for healing.

I divorced my narcissist after 45 years
My ex-husband is a consummate narcissist. I divorced him finally after 45 years of marriage. My two daughters have been irreparably harmed by the dysfunctional family dynamic and the book helped me see that I, as an enabler, also had a damning effect on their adult development. Hopefully my last few years on Earth will prove to be happier for me, but more importantly, my daughters will be able to gain some personal enlightenment about their father's syndrome.

Poorly written, lacks professional credibility
I have noted that other reviews of this author's books have pointed out the constant, distracting stream of grammatical errors in her writing, so I know it's not just the admitted writing snob in me talking here. But what I find worse than the horrendous writing and nonexistent editing, is the lack of professional heft and credibility this author offers to the reader. She does get one star for pointing out early in the book that a diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder requires the determination of a qualified professional--but she then goes on to make sweeping, unsubstantiated statements ranging from presuming nuclear families are a necessity for healthy child rearing, to blurring the lines between narcissistic tendancies, and full blown Narcissistic Personality Disorder. At no point does she cite research for her statements, so I can only conclude that her questionable understanding of the topic is based on her opinion, and her opinion alone. Since no credentials are offered up regarding her professional qualifications in the book itself, I would advise anyone wishing to learn more on this topic to steer clear of this writer. I had initially bought the book thinking it might be a good resource for my clients; however, it won't be going any further than my recycling pile.

Invaluable Info but needs editing
This is a wonderful book with tons of great info in which I immediately related. However, the lack of editing made it difficult to read. With editing, this book will be a 5 star must read for anyone with a Narcissistic Father. The author knows what she's talking about and offers invaluable info. I highly recommend even with the editing issues.
