Q: If I turn turn the switch on and plug the power plug in to an outlet that has an on/off switch will the lights turn on using that the outlet switch?

Yes. I have two of these lights mounted under a shelf in my laundry room. They are plugged into a wall switch-controlled outlet. The lights are both switched on to the lower of the two settings. When I want to turn them on I flip the wall switch and am good to go.

Q: Do the fixtures come with plug-in power cords if you are using a direct wire junction box? Why would you need that cord?

Hi mikeyin va, thank you for your question. Our Honeywell LED Linkable Fixtures come with plug-in power cords. The junction box used to convert the fixture to direct wire is sold separately. If the fixture is being direct-wired using the junction box, the plug-in cord is unnecessary.
