An Almost Exact Replacement of the Original PetMate Deluxe Fresh Flow Pump - And It Works!
I purchased this product to replace a previous version of the pump that was shipped with a PetMate Deluxe Fresh Flow water fountain/dish. The main difference between these two pumps was that the original had a dial knob that was used to control the water flow (see attached picture). This new one uses a slider inside the front "filter", and must be adjusted with the unit outside of the fountain/dish; this is not a problem once the right flow is determined. But I did prefer the ease of use of the original flow control. Note: The old front flow controller/filter could be used with the new unit, but it is not as snug as I would like. The only negative I can really state is that the rubber suction cups REALLY work well on the plastic of the fountain. Unfortunately, the downside is that when I have to remove the pump from the fountain to clean it (and I have to do that at least once a week, as my cats tend to drop food into this dish), the suction cups stay behind, pulling out of the pump. I never had that problem with the old pump. I have found that this is not too bad, as with the help of a jeweler's flathead screwdriver, I can pop them back into the bottom of the pump without much effort. I have read other reviews stating that this pump is very noisy; I have always found this pump to run silently except when: a) The pump is just turned on after cleaning and it still has air in it; I have found that after 15 seconds or so, the air is passed and the pump runs silently as expected. b) The front filter becomes clogged and cannot pass enough water; then the unit does get noisy. When normally running, neither I nor my cats are disturbed by any noises from this pump. I am definitely happy with the silent running of this unit. One other small "gotcha" with this new unit vs the old was the on/off switch on the cord the old pump had. This is a minor difference, as I rarely used it anyway, as I would just disconnect the cord from the adapter when cleaning the fountain anyway; an extra switch is just that, extra. Overall, I am satisfied with this replacement unit (which by the way, had EXACTLY the same model number as the old unit). It does the job, and it does it silently. And it fits my PetMate Deluxe Fresh Flow water fountain/dish perfectly, once I replaced the 1/2" nozzle with the 1/4" (smaller) one. My cats love using the fountain, and will no longer use a bowl unless the fountain is not available (i.e., in the dishwasher).

a bit different than earlier model/ works for Petmate fountain
This replacement pump for my Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow drinking fountain, although the same model #, is slightly different but it works well. The white flow control lever on the old pump (which stuck through the hole in the fountain between the pump compartment & the water "bowl") has been replaced by a tiny sliding control nub on the face of the pump, only accessible before the fountain is assembled for operation (I would suggest setting it in the low flow position for the first time since it seems more powerful than the replaced pump). The ac/dc adapter power cord is about 14" long (note: 2 prior pumps I owned broke where the hard, very thin plastic power cord meets the cord "collar" on both ends... I suggest reinforcing this flex point w/electrical tape). The cord from the pump to its female end (where it plugs into the adaptor cord male end) is at least 4' long (I didn't stretch it out to measure) but is missing the dial power on/off switch of the last pump (although if you need it this is very easy to re-install onto the new cord if you are at all handy). If like me you are using this for the pet fountain, 2 things: make sure to keep the cord "clamp" from the old cord (the black piece that holds the cord in place where it exits the fountain's rear); and twist out the plastic 1/2" (outside diameter) "pipe/ nozzle" sticking out the top of the pump & replace it w/the smaller 1/4" nozzle (packed loose in the pump box w/no instructions w/it so you at first wonder what it's for) which fits into the water flow tube of the assembled water fountain. This is a cheaper option than buying a new Petmate fountain. After a few hours of use so far, seems more powerful & quieter than previous pump.

Great pump---and great vendor service!
I bought this item to replace the pump in my Petmate deluxe fresh flow watering bowl. The pump recirculates water in the bowl, making it more attractive for your dog or cat to drink. Several years ago, Petmate substituted a different pump in later versions of the bowl---one which I found too noisy for my tastes. I was pleased to find the older pump still available from this vendor. When the pump came, I was a bit confused at first, because the nozzle on the pump didn't fit inside the "stack" in the fountain, a vertical column which carries the water up to let it flow down a slide into the bowl again. The diameter of the nozzle was too large to mate up with the Petmate stack. I emailed Amazon and the vendor responded almost at once, even though it was a Saturday. He explained that a nozzle with smaller diameter had been included in the shipment which could be swapped for the one the pump came with. (I had thought that piece was an adapter for some other use). The nozzle was easy to switch and now I can look forward to years more use of the quiet fountain. This is a good, quiet pump that lasts a long time, and the vendor service could not be better.

Has lasted over 5 years!
Update December 2019: Well, after a few of days of use, the pump motor built up some slime, which made it much quieter. So, I never did return it. I must say, it has worked out pretty well, and it has been running not stop for 5 years. I thought it died the other day, but found that there was some fun that built up in the hole where the magnet on the impeller shaft sides in. I was able to use Q-tips to clean it out, and it is good as after break-in new! So, I would recommend this pump, if it still made the same. From 2014: I am planning to return this pump. I bought it because of the good reviews, and the short lifespan of the original Pet Mate pump in my cat's water bowl. He likes to drink at the top of the slide where the water comes out, and without a working pump, that is not possible. The original Pet Mate pump was nearly silent, but did not pump a lot of water. It was enough to circulate it though. Last week, the wire developed a break near the pump motor from being forced into a 90 degree bend by the design of the bowl. They should make the wire come out the top of the pump!! Anyway, I tried putting the Pet Mate impeller blade into this pump, which made it go from a loud rattle that scared the cat away completely to a lower grinding noise that he finally approached and did drink from. But, I cannot tolerate this noise near my desk all day! I will have to go to Target and get a whole new bowl and pump for about the same price as just the pump, once I am near civilization again.

Works great with our Petmate 24870 Fresh Flow Pet Fountain
We currently have three cats and all three are in love with our Petmate 24870 Fresh Flow Pet Fountain. It has been chugging along like the little workhorse it is but after 5 years I decided it might be time to replace the pump. After some searching, realizing I wasn't going to easily find a replacement pump from Petmate for our fountain, I found this pump by Jebao and it works perfectly for us! It comes with an adapter that we didn't need but may be useful to others with other models. One feature I do like about this one versus the stock pump that came with out Petmate unit is the ability to turn up/down the flow speed. With the Jebao pump the cord no longer fits through the plastic piece at the back of the fountain (it had a plastic piece that clipped over the stock pump cord so that it was flush with the fountain) but that's no big deal for us, we simply threw it into a drawer and left the opening as-is. I haven't had to clean the pump yet but I don't anticipate it will be any more difficult that cleaning the stock pump. I was just happy to be able to pull the old pump out and chuck it into the trash, not having to clean it again! We are very pleased with the way the Jebao pump is working with our Petmate 24870 Fresh Flow Pet Fountain.

Replacement for Pet mate
This is the same model that was in my Pet mate. The difference are to adjust the flow,..... the pump has a slider switch that you can not adjust from the bowl, you have to remove the pump to adjust it. The rubber seal on the cord where it exits the Pet mate requires some modification to transfer it to the new pump cord. I did not see any leakage coming from the pump cord hole w/o the rubber seal. If you are going to use sealant to plug the hole, I suggest you use a sealant for aquariums, since this will not be toxic to your loved ones. The power cord has a disconnect between the transformer and the pump. Thus you could replace the power supply with a one from your stash of power supplies. The unit comes with with a extra smaller outlet tube. This is the one I used in the Pet Mate. Had 3 weeks, so far no issues

Connection is into plug
The connector screws directly into the plug. The picture shows it in the middle of the wire.

Checar el photo correcto
La foto que muestra el producto no es precisa. El cable es una unidad de dos piezas y está hecho de alambres pequeños.

Great Little Pump!
Bought this pump for our little fountain which the original had seized up! Works great and has a flow speed adjustment. Great for larger fountains also I would guess.
