Tastes good!!
I saw the reviews on taste were pretty polar but decided to role the dice. With 2 heaping tablespoons, used an actual measuring spoon, in a 16.9 oz bottle and shook it up. Tasted much like the O.N.E. coco water but a bit less coco nutty essence but not by much. I also like that it is no more sugar than the O.N.E. as most coco nut water brands are higher. If people are more used to drinking the more sugary ones that may be part of the problem with taste. It looks cloudy but is not gritty at all, maybe those reviewers added too much. It stayed mixed as well and didn't settle after shaking.I will be getting this from now on the for the cost savings but will still get the real thing now and then as a treat. Nothing beats the real deal but this is very similar, especially if you not after something real sweet.Edit: When I bought mine the ingredients were just evaporated coconut water, dextrose, and sea salt but looking at the changed package on site they have added more things, which may in fact make it gritty. I may just pay a bit more for the real stuff to be sent instead. Not changing my score since I can only review what I've actually gotten but coconut flour will make it gritty though will also add more coconut flavor.

Has been helpful to me to control cramps while riding
I started using this after the ingredient change others have pointed out, so am judging it under that lens. For me, it's been effective in preventing cramps while on my bike rides. I mix four "servings" in one 16 oz. bottle (I shake the bottle vigorously and use room temp tap water so it dissolves well) and finish in within the first two hours of my ride. The taste is unoffensive, but I don't think "pineapple" when I drink it. I like the fact it has some added dextrose, I think it helps my energy level. What I really like about this is the ratio of potassium to sodium. Some other electrolyte products (Nuun for example) have too much sodium. Sodium lost through sweat is easier to replace through food than potassium.

Surprised.
I had tried one other coconut water product on amazon and was not to impressed with it's lack of almost no coconut flavor. Coco Hydro on the other hand is probably as good as it gets for powdered coconut water. This one actually does taste like coconut water, it's a light taste though, but defiantly noticeable. This isn't as good as something like Vita Coco though, but about the same in taste as Zico coconut water I'd say. It's not bad at all. The nutritional content is very impressive and completely identical to that of Vita Coco and Zico. This product contains dextrose which is the same as glucose and is actually the only sugar that is good for the body and works in the blood to feed your cells, and be rest assured, this dextrose is not from corn, its made from tapioca. Mixability of this product is superb, add water, stir, and like a minute later its all mixed perfectly, I still like to let it sit for about 5 minutes though. The package recommends 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces but I found that the coconut flavor is just to light for me so I do a tablespoon and a half and thats perfect for me. All in all a great product, I would give it 5 stars if I didn't have to use more then a tablespoon per 8 ounces, It costs a little more doing it that way and I'm going for a cheap alternative. This is still cheaper then regular coconut water though even though I use more. I personally think this should be priced at $8.99.

Not Even Close...
...and I'm not talking about fresh coconut water. Even canned coconut water from Costo is far better.I really don't understand the 5-star reviews. I wonder if these people know what a coconut tastes like.An earlier review mentioned the after-taste. It is closest to stale processed white cheddar cheese.Seriously, if you weren't told that this was coconut water, you'd never guess. It's that bad.If you're near a Costco, go get the canned Foco coconut juice. (12x17.6 oz cans for under ten bucks). At least that one has a semblance of coconut in it. (and is cheaper by the ounce. 160 calories for the 0.52 Liter can - which is not too bad for an 80% juice but it does have added sugar and water)I was going to give it a 2nd star for the low calorie count (so one could add fake sugar to make it sweet), but after looking at the nutritional facts, I don't know what the calorie count really is.... Why? Nutritional facts state 5 calories per serving. No mention of the number of servings in the container. Serving size is 22g, but package weighs 275 g. So that is 12.5 servings (not 25 servings as advertised). So is this 5 calories per ounce of mixed drink or 22g of powder.Bottom line, skip it. Hopefully the pineapple flavored one that should arrive over the next few days will mask the cheese aftertaste.UPDATE: The pineapple flavor does mask the cheesy aftertaste. I'm going to have to mix the original and the pineapple as there's no way I'm going to be able to drink the original one alone...

Excellent option for coconut water addicts!
I have a potassium deficiency and have found coconut water to be an excellent addiction to my diet. I even notice a slight energy boost after drinking it. The flavor is just slightly sweet and coco-nutty with a faint saltiness like most sports drinks have. It's really easy to pack a couple of tablespoons into a Tupperware or small zip-lock and shake it up with water after a workout. The product dissolves quickly and easily leaving the water slightly cloudy. Overall CocoHydro is as good if not better than packaged coconut water (I compare it to VitaCoco Original). The environmental impact of using a powdered product is much less than the tetra packaged waters. I have even subscribed to a monthly shipment so I won't have to drive to a health food store 45 min away for my fix.Bottom line, it tastes great, it costs less than other brands, and I will be buying it for the foreseeable future.
