Amazon Basics Self-Locking Tape Measure with Belt Clip, 33 feet (10 m), Inch/Metric Scale, MID Accuracy, Black, Yellow

My husband added this tape measure to his growing collection of tools, and it has quickly become one of the ones he reaches for every day. We live on a homestead, so it’s used constantly for building chicken coops, goat pens, raised garden beds, fencing projects, and general repairs. The self-locking feature makes measuring by yourself much easier, and the markings are clear and easy to read. It feels sturdy, retracts smoothly, and the belt clip is convenient when he’s moving from one project to another. It’s been reliable through regular use and has held up well. For the price, it’s a great value, and we’d definitely buy it again. Think I may order some for gift baskets for Christmas for my son and grandson

I like this measuring tape a lot. It's bigger, heavier, and sturdier than I expected, which makes it feel durable and well made. My favorite part: it locks securely in place, and the tape retracts smoothly with the push of a button without snapping back too fast or violently (see video attached). I really love that, since other measuring tapes retract way too fast and too suddenly, which always startles me. The only thing to note is that the markings are printed on only one side of the tape which is not really my preference but it's not a big deal. It includes measurements in centimeters, feet, and inches, which is very convenient. The size may be too big for people with small hands like mine, but that probably won't be an issue for most people. Overall, I'm very happy with it!

A really good price for a quality tape measure. I really like the auto locking capabilities and the many different measurements that are available on the measure. It is portable and sturdy so far. I would recommend!

Nice and heavy tape measure with some great functions. Very easy to read and thick enough to stay put.

I like it. I like the way it stops when you pull it out to where you want and then retracts with the push of a button. The size for my big lady hand is almost too big. I measured my hand and it's 7" from base of thumb to tip of longest finger. It is a big handful! And on the heavy side. I think this is my reason for the 4 stars. But it really does seem to be made well and an extra 8 feet will be nice to have even though along with that comes a larger and heavier tool. The thing that really threw me is how, while the feet are marked, the inches just keep on going in a large size. The feet and inches are shown but in a very small size beside the inches. So if you are measuring 31'-6" you would see 378 inches big and bold and teeny tiny beside that it would say 31-6. with the 31' marked in the right spot making you need to be very careful not to miscount. Is this common practice? It is nice to have metric too. I haven't checked it for accuracy. I just needed an inexpensive tape measure because there are a ton of things I need to buy after a move and buying the best of each is just going to have to wait!

The self locking feature is the best! It is so helpful to just pull and measure without having to manually lock the unit. It's very smooth all around. You get a top notch tape measure for a fraction of what it would cost for a name brand with out the self-locking feature

Wowza! This is a great tool! Long, great price, doesn't mind being dropped a few times, rugged, locks and is easy to find because it looks like a giant bumble bee.

I’m a steelworker and I go through tape measures pretty regularly — usually one every couple of months from daily abuse. For the price, this is the best cheap tape I’ve found so far. Water is the real tape-killer in my experience, so I try to keep mine dry, and doing that this one has held up great. The blade coating is decent, the lock still works properly, and the recoil hasn’t gone soft like a lot of bargain tapes do after a short time. The markings stay clear and easy to read. It’s not pretending to be a top-tier $40 pro tape, but for what it costs, the durability is excellent. If you want a solid work tape that you won’t feel bad replacing when it eventually dies, this is a great buy. I’ll be buying these again.
