Up until recently, I never tried spice brands that I am not familiar. I found a bulk spice supplier and I have been using them for a few years. I remember years ago when there were not so many brands to choose from. It was best to go with the well known brand rather than trying an unfamiliar brand. Nowadays, I am learning this isn't always true. An unfamiliar brand can be an awesome spice and priced that it is more affordable than other brands. That is the case with this clove spice. I was able to compare the BanyanTree Foods clove powder to the clove powder I have on hand which is a well known name. The BanyanTree Foods clove powder is every bit as flavorful as the one I have on hand if not more. The grind of it was identical to my one on hand. It is fragrant. It is flavorful. It taste like potent ground cloves. I learned that one cannot tastes two different clove powders at the same time. Straight clove powder numbs the taste buds for a few minutes! Pricewise- I was surprised to see the low price. It is 100 grams/3.5 ounces. It does need a different container after opening. It is a resealable wax coated brown bag. Different than the bag that is pictured. The zipper part tore away from the bag upon opening so even if I wanted to, I can't leave the spice in the bag. It will dry out because the bag won't reseal.

Produit à l'odeur puissante, même dans un sachet à priori hermétique, ça embaume tout un placard. L'emballage est un sachet en plastique de consistance molle, limite poisseuse au toucher, lui même dans un sachet en papier. Il faut couper le sachet plastique car sa fermeture zip est impossible à ouvrir. Je crains le transfert de produits chimiques du sachet vers le produit. J'essayerai de trouver une autre formule à l'avenir.
