Bluex Bulbs 3 Pack MP100/U/MED 100 Watt Metal Halide ED17 Bulb, Medium Base, Clear Metal Halide Bulb 100W

These seem to be of good quality and the friend I gave them to said it was a great price, but I did not really understand the info in the description, so be sure you understand what you're buying. They DO give you the info, you just need to understand the terminology.

These were the exact bulbs I needed. Beware of Home Depot’s, Lowe’s, and other hardware store that carry the metal halide bulbs. They look the same but they are not and won’t screw into the socket because the neck of the bulbs are longer than what the box stores are carrying. The bulb screws into a ceramic socket which is deeper than a standard socket. So the bulb catches maybe one or two threads. The difference is so slight but enough to not work. So I was wrong after trying 3 bulbs from 3 different box stores. Specs were the same as the original but they didn’t work. Found this 3 pack on Amazon and they are exactly what I needed and perfect fit. Box store prices were 25 to 32 dollars for one build that didn’t work. These came as a 3 pack and worked perfectly for the price of 1 bulb. Couldn’t be happier. Work great. Hope this helps everyone when they are looking for a replacement metal halide bulb.

Great economical replacement lamps

Bulb is a bit dimmer than my previous Lithonia Lighting unit, but with the trouble I experienced finding a replacement bulb I’ll live with it. Three bulbs for $30 is a good deal as well, have to wait and see how long they last.

This bulb is for my RAB dusk-to-dawn Yardblaster (Barn light)1. The price: I wasn't really looking to buy more than one bulb, but the price was too good to pass up. When shopping the Internet, I saw single bulbs selling for twice the price of this 3-bulb deal.2. Fits ceramic sockets: not all bulbs of this type will fit into ceramic sockets. The diameter of the neck of the bulb must be 1.25" to fit, but some bulbs have a neck of 1.5" and they won't fit.3. Longevity: to be determined. My previous bulb was a Phillips and it lasted 6 yrs. That's 2 to 3 times the rated life. I will try to remember to get back and update this review when the new bulb needs to be replaced. [UPDATE] As of 9-9-2022 it's still working dusk to dawn every day! [UPDATE] 7-12-2023 I replaced the first of the three bulbs. It was still working, but I'd had a couple of times recently when the light did not come on after dark unless I jarred the circuit by opening and closing the garage door. I replaced the sensor, but still had another non-start. Also, the brightness seemed a little low. We'll see what happens. The bulb is rated for 10,000 hours and I got 13,000+ (and it still could be good.)

They fit, so happy after 3 trips to the big box stores of fat bulbs not fitting, these have the right sized glass down near the threads and they fit like a glove. One bulb was broken inside, but after getting 3 for the price of one single bulb from the big box store I'm not even going to bother asking for a replacement bulb for it! This was set for an overnight delivery but instead came at 10pm, a little over 7 hours from the time it was ordered, I was both impressed and happy at the same time! Thanks Amazon!

Seams to work as described. Would buy again.

No problems with purchase or product. Bulb fit perfectly in light. Hoping they last a long time.
