Long-Lasting and Reliable – Perfect for Travel!
I bought these ice packs for a long road trip because I didn’t want to deal with melting ice and soggy food. These packs exceeded expectations – they kept our food and drinks cold for the entire 12-hour trip. One important tip: for the best performance, freeze them in a sub-zero freezer if possible. In a standard freezer, the liquid inside doesn’t fully freeze, although the packs still work. However, when frozen in a sub-zero freezer, they become completely solid and last noticeably longer.Highly recommend these for anyone needing dependable cold storage without the mess of traditional ice.

These Things Are Pretty Cool... Pun Intended!
So I like that these are made in the USA. I go out of my way to buy stuff that is, and it's usually worth it.I moved to the boons a bit ago and there are some stores I like to shop at that are a good drive away, so I've been using my cooler to do shopping every few weeks. I wanted to get more/better cold packs since I'm using them all the time now. These sounded sweet because they retain more cold, and can actually keep things frozen, so I figured I'd try them.Fun Fact: My beater 2nd fridge I have in the basement doesn't even get cold enough in the freezer to actually freeze these solid! I've sort of used that to my advantage in that I don't necessarily want things to turn to ice in the chest all the time... BUT when I do I've tossed these in my full size GE fridge and they of course get hard as a rock, and will then ACTUALLY freeze stuff they're in contact with. Pretty sweet since most similar products won't actually keep things frozen, just really cold. These also don't deform and bulge like some others I have, which is nice. In short they're just better engineered.I think Some of the reviewers who mention these "melting" quickly don't get what's going on. These things won't freeze solid until a lower temperature than many similar products... The reverse of that means they go liquid at a lower temperature too. However they will still be just as cold as another pack that is still solid. But ultimately they can retain more "coldness" if you will, and keep things proper frozen, because of the properties they have. I've had these melt and still have stuff be cold as heck in the cooler. I will probably snag some more of these when I need to in the future as I'm quite happy with the way they work.

Once you get them cold enough, they are great
They are exactly the size I need and are well made (and in the US), but be advised: these have to get COLD to freeze. If you have a smaller fridge with only 1 controller for both the fridge and freezer, it may not get cold enough. A larger unit with independent controls will be fine—set the freezer to 0 and leave them in there over the weekend. These are best for keeping frozen stuff frozen, not cold stuff cold—get the blue Chillin’ Brew series for that. The purple ones are good to get your ice cream home from the store, not to keep your lunch cold. The temperature differential is too great to use these to keep things cold—these work around 5 degrees and cold things are generally above 32—all the work goes into getting the items colder rather than keeping them frozen.Be sure you want a frozen food pack—these are what you want for that. They work well, come in good sizes, are rugged and won’t fail, and are made in the US.

Don’t waste your money!
Do not water your money on this product. Of all the reusable ice packs I own, this one lasts the shortest period of time. It takes what seems like days to freeze and will already be partially thawed in a few hours. When I prechill my coolers before use, this will be the only pack that’s completely thawed out in the morning. That’s with the cooler indoors for 24hours at 74* ambient temps. The other ice packs will still be frozen or minimally thawed compared to this one. Save your money and go with a different brand. I wish I would have returned this ice pack but the first time unused it was outside the return window.

I does not last 8 hours until thawed out
They are cold. I put the thermo gun on them when they are cold and come out of the freezer and they register at -12 to -13. I put one in my big lunch box that is insulated and it thawed out and was back in a liquid state in about 6 to 7 hours. Put the gun on ice pack when home at 10 hours and ice pack was about 41 degrees. Was surprised that the material they use for making it cold completely turns back to liquid. It did keep my lunch really cold for a good 6 hours using just one of the ice packs. There were three different ice packs from the same company to choose from and this was the coldest. Glad I did not order any of the other two or they would have thawed out long before this one did and I would not have been happy. My lunch box is a Titan Deep Freeze 30 can. It's big. So the ice pack fits in the end of my lunch box just right. I had chocolates in my lunch box and 6 hours later they were too hard because of the cold. If I put two of these in my lunch box I am sure that the box would be a whole lot colder and last probably the 10 hours or more

Excellent Product
We made an excellent choice when buying this. It does what's it's designed. to do. We love the handle that makes it easy to take from the car's cooler back into the kitchen freezer.

Stopped freezing after couple of uses
As others have experienced, this was great at first. But after just 2-3 uses, it no longer freezes. Our freezer gets down to 0 degrees F (colder than many other freezers, because our freezer has its own, dedicated compressor). This ice unit stopped freezing solid. It stays liquid. I've even tried putting it in the back/middle of the freezer. Even after 4+ days, it's still not frozen. And it doesn't work very well when it's in liquid form (I tried it camping last weekend). And this thing was expensive!

Mixed Results so far...
These cold packs are well-constructed and trouble free, but for some reason do not seem to freeze well within 24hrs, even 8m a deep freezer in a single layer as suggested in the instructions. They are the right size for use in the ends of my cooler, which is helpful.
