NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Explorer 114mm Reflecting Telescope

The optical quality is quite good. I have an older same magnification telescope but a smaller aperture and I can clearly see that the new telescope collects more light as expected with its larger aperture.The Tripod is not the best and not very stable but again for the price I paid this is great value.

For a low price this telescope delivers high end results at least in my opinion. I love looking at the moon and other planets and this takes good pictures with the cell phone attachment. I bought this one to give to a friend because we liked ours so much.

Telescope arrived with a minor piece broken, and missing several pieces. Returned with no drama and no questions asked, but the replacement is delayed in transit. Half the time I get this notice, the order never arrives. Fingers crossed.

To teach my Granddaughter about the solar system

We have started camping and have rediscovered stars! It's easy to forget how magnificent the heavens are when you are surrounded by the ambient light of the city or a neighborhood. Presented it to my husband for Father's Day and it came with us camping the very next weekend. My husband was ready to throw it across the campsite after fiddling with it for over an our to find and look at the moon that looked beautiful with the naked eye. Once he got it in the view finder, it couldn't be focused enough to see it let alone any details of the moon. We were able to return it easily, at Kohl's and had no problem getting our money back. The seller seemed great, we were just very disappointed in the telescope itself.

Came in a box that was obviously opened already. All the small pieces were no longer individually wrapped and a piece was broken off a clip that was necessary. Very disappointing considering this was a big Christmas gift for my daughter. It never should have been resold.
