My condenser went out at my house. Opened it up to find a swollen capacitor. I’m cheap so I don’t want to pay an HVAC guy. The top is well labeled so switching it out was a breeze. It looks like it is quality made and it immediately fixed my problem. Even if it only lasts a few seasons it’s very inexpensive. I ordered an extra to keep in the unit just in case.

This came quickly and it saved time and money. We will give you an update in 4 months and let you know how I did in the summer!

Works great in my 3.5-ton Goodman AC/Heat Pump. Super easy to install. I keep one as a spare, and it paid off in the heat of the Summer. The fan stopped running. I checked the capacitor on the common and fan side; it was 0.003 mfd. So a quick replacement and wallah! Worked like a champ and saved me a $300 service call.

Worked fine out of the box. Would buy again. Last one lasted 5 years.

Easy to install, but watch a YouTube video to be safe as the capacitor you’re taking out may still have a charge and can shock you. The size was a bit smaller than the same part number which was about eight years old. It was fairly straightforward to bend the mounting strap.. If you have any doubt whether you need this part or not with the unit on manually spin the fan blade and if it continues, then you need this part.

My Trane home A/C stopped cooling recently.. I checked the condenser unit (XE 1100, from 2001), and the fan seemed to be having trouble starting, but even when it ran, there was no cooling at all. The pipe that exits to the house that's supposed to be cold was not even cool. Everything seemed to be OK to my untrained brain, although I couldn't really check the coolant. So, I gambled and ordered the capacitor, which wasn't very expensive, and was already removed for testing. The photo I added shows the original capacitor with wires, but disconnected from bracket (one screw) Replaced the capacitor, and it worked right off, smooth as silk. However, the capacitor's diameter was smaller by about 1/4 inch, and it was longer. The length was no problem, and I got some padding and a piece of bicycle tubing to go under the bracket to make it tight. That wasn't really much of a problem, and it probably would have been secure enough anyway, but I didn't want to take any chances. Note that this was an easy fix, but I have some old experience with electrical equipment, mainly electronics. But I understand electricity, and knew how to avoid getting shocked. There's 220 volts coming in, so if you aren't sure what you are doing, make sure you learn, and be careful. Use one hand at a time, and don't allow yourself to be contacting ground or the A/C chassis, and you'll probably be safe even if you accidentally touch the wrong thing. But best not to do that.

This capacitor fixed my air conditioner quickly and inexpensively.

Life saver. As expected, hottest days of summer hit and the AC checks out. 99% of the time its the capacitor and for us it was. Got it overnight and 24hrs later we're back in the cool. Super easy repair, if you know your way around high voltage. If not, find someone who does.

For an American Standard Heritage 15. Although smaller in diameter than the original, it works perfectly. Little squeeze of the bracket and all is good.
