Good Quality Product - Keeps beverages cold
We purchased this product a couple of months ago. We actually returned a cheaper unit (diff brand) and upgraded to this beverage cooler because it was exactly the size, look, and quality, we were shopping for. Its worth the money. Has a blower built in to keep drinks cold. Plus ventilated holes in shelving for circulation. Looks high-end and has cool LED lighting inside! Would definitely recommend this product.

The Perfect Beer Cooler
I've owned this cooler now for two months and wanted to share my experiences to date.Space restrictions dictated a cooler less than 16 inches wide and this was the only product I could find that met the requirement. The price ($479.00) was nearly double what I wanted to pay and when you couple that with the mediocre reviews, I had some heartburn after completing my order.Although not eligible for Amazon Prime, shipping was free and extremely fast. I ordered on a Sunday at 8:40 PM, was notified it shipped on Monday at 11:34 PM, and it arrived Wednesday just before Noon. The unit was protected by foam wrap and placed inside a thick cardboard box. This box was suspended, using thick Styrofoam corners, inside of another thick cardboard box. This exterior box had a few bumps but the interior box, as well as the cooler, was in perfect condition.Upon unboxing, I let the unit sit for over 24 hours before plugging it in. After turning the unit on and setting the thermostat to 40°, I was surprised it took less than an hour to reach this temperature. As I am using the cooler for cellaring purposes, I upped the thermostat to 50° and stocked it with already cold beer. My general rule is to allow my refrigerator to cool the beer. No sense having the less powerful compressor doing all the hard work.Overall I feel the cooler is quiet and has great capacity for my purposes. I've removed one shelf, placed 22oz bottles on the bottom, 12oz bottles in the middle, and cans (along with certain skinnier 22oz bottles) laying horizontal on the top shelf. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't appear to permit customer photos for this product...I will note that there have been a few 22oz bottles that are slightly taller and would not fit vertically on the bottom shelf. I ended up placing six 1/2 inch square rubber bumpers (Example: ) on the bottom of the middle shelf and this created the additional height I needed. As for those 22oz bottle that have corks, there is space at the back of the cooler where two bottles can be placed at roughly a 20° angle.

Works as advertised - easy to leave door open
Very satisfied overall. Works, looks great, not that noisy. Fit right into the space where a trash compactor was. Big upgrade to that space. One thing that is a bit of a problem is that the door will bounce open a bit if you don't carefully close it. More than a few times we've noticed that the door was open all night. If they could address that problem, this would be perfect.

Met my expectations.
So far I've been quite pleased with the fridge:- Capacity is great- Cools and holds temperature well- Fit perfectly into an cabinet that was used for a garbage compactor- Looks greatNo cons to speak of at the moment.

DO NOT BUY THIS EDGESTAR COOLER
We purchased this EdgeStar 80 Cooler in July 2012. Within weeks the temperature inside began creeping upward. We emptied the contents, and unplugged the unit, hoping to "reset" the thermostat. After a day we plugged it back in and it cooled down to 39 degrees. Again after several days the temperature began creeping up. We repeated the process, and noticed that there was ice forming in the back wall of the inside of the cooler. Over the next month we repeated the process, thawing and plugging back in.We finally called the company today, Oct 24, and were told by the service manager that it only has a 30 days labor warranty. We would have to find our own refrigerator service person, have them look at it, and that person could call and order parts. Edgestar does not have service people they work with or recommend.I explained that the unit had never worked properly, and he said there was nothing he could do, because the unit was more than 30 days old. He stated that the company was giving us "excellent customer service" by telling us to find our own service person. The unit is worthless. The company, located in Austin TX is worthless. The service manager would not even direct my call to his superior, stating that I could call back as many times as I wanted, and he was the only person I would be able to talk to.I had hoped that by buying a product made in the USA, it would be a quality company and service. Do NOT do business with this company.UPDATE 9/2013:After writing this review, and sending an email to the parent company, the "customer service" person sent me an email saying that if I would the refrigerator to Austin, they would do a repair. They would not send me a shipping container, or prepaid label. So I dragged it to FedX, paid $28 to have it boxed up, and sent it off. About 3 weeks later they shipped it back to me.I had already replaced it with another brand, so I put it in storage for a while. My husband finally decided to take it to his office. He has been using it for about 4 months now, and it is working fine.I still wouldn't recommend dealing with this company, however I felt it necessary to report that the refrigerator appears to be functional after repair.

First one broke down after 5 years but I can't find one that is better.
So I have on of these for beverages and one for wine, the beverage one stopped cooling and started making a loud sound after 5 years. I was wondering if I should get a different brand or risk replacing this only to have the wind fridge break again. Well I searched long and hard; even looking at units that cost 3 times as much money and while some cool better they have the same problems and similar life span. In the end I figure $600 for 5 years isn't bad so I bought another.PS. Support said it sounded like my motherboard broke and needed to be replaced which would have cost about $120, if that had been the problem.
