My application for this lamp is probably a little unusual: it's as a desk lamp, but needed to be above the top of a monitor rotated into portrait mode, so higher than most desk lamps. I chose this lamp because from the specs, I figured that it would be at a correct height with one out of the two extension pole sections. And in fact it is. The only problem is that the inner cord that is provided is a good length if two extension sections are used, but too long if only one is used. I eventually figured out ow to work the extra length down into the section so all is good, but for me anyway, it would have been nice if two cords, one sized for one section, one for two, had been included. But other than that, it looks good. Nice & bright. The controls take a while to figure out, but that's OK too.

I absolutely LOVE this lamp and want to give it 5 stars, but there are areas for improvement.PROS:1) Super easy to assemble.2) Can emit light in all hues from very cool to very warm. I use the cool light to wake up in the morning (i.e. as an alternative to a HappyLight, which I also love, but is quite expensive). I use the warm light in the evening to avoid the dreaded "blue light" which disrupts quality/quantity of sleep.3) Brightness goes from very dim to bright (would like it to go brighter).CONS: The base is too light and the lamp tips over so easily. This drives me NUTS! Fortunately the little bugger seems pretty rugged and hasn't broken yet from a tip. If you are clumsy, or have children or pets, this WILL get knocked over frequently.2) The hue and brightness buttons should be set farther apart and the tactile, raised plastic symbols should be more prominent. I am approaching this from an accessibility standpoint. As an able-bodied, middle aged person, I struggle to find the right button (and not knock the blasted thing over), especially when fumbling around at night. For a differently abled person (e.g. elderly or person with multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's who might have reduced mobility, agility, dexterity) this would present a challenge.I love it enough that I purchased another one, but the tipping over issue bugs me enough that it doesn't deserve 5 stars.Manufacturer: Please make the base heavier!!!

Overall, an excellent product. I use it as a floor lamp and it is very stable. High quality construction and a nice black powder coated finish. There are two buttons that operate and adjust both the color temperature and brightness (don't lose the instructions if you don't regularly play with those adjustments). Although there is a red LED identifying the two buttons which are flush with the surface, it can be difficult to use them depending on how you use the lamp. You should think about how you plan to place and use the lamp to make sure you can easily access those buttons. It would benefit from a remote control but that may be a bit much to expect considering the low price of the lamp. I would definitely recommend this lamp but if your eyesight is at all a problem those two buttons to operate the lamp might give you trouble.

1) A little bit tricky to assemble getting the plug into the tube (tight fit) and screwing on the first tube. Inventive way of getting the electricity through the tubes without having the cord already snaked through all the tubes. This also allows making either a desk or floor lamp. 2) Turning the lamp on and off is tricky. First the buttons are not lit, so are impossible to see in a dark room when the lamp it on. There is a tiny red led light between the buttons when the lamp is off, but of little help finding the on/off/brightness button or the color button. 3) This review page wants the remote control to be reviewed. NO REMOTE CONTROL CAME WITH THE UNIT. I have another brand of lamp I got through Amazon that has a remote control. Having a remote control is a great thing to have and any future lamp purchase will only be lamps with a remote control. If this lamp had a remote it would solve the “invisible” button problem. Overall I will not purchase this lamp again.

This lamp has quality construction and uniform aesthetics. The assembly and operation instructions are clear and well illustrated. The light output is perfect for reading, intricate task work, or for ambient mood lighting. The 10- and 40-minute timer function is also a great feature for bedtime reading! Very pleased with this lamp, and will research other products by this vendor.

The description says 2,000 lumens. We tested it a max of 307 lumens. Massive difference. Were a film company and can test to .002 lux. Disappointed. Returned.

Cute lamp, but it has issues. It came without instructions, but assembly wasn't too hard to figure out. Sadly, it is too light to stand up straight unless you set it on a hard surface. The controls should have been backlit as it is hard to find the on/off or dim buttons in the dark. The dim button is not very responsive or intuitive ... tap, tap, slide, slide ... maybe the button will do something, maybe it won't, getting the desired light color or brightness is a pain! Occasionally, it shuts off on its own ... did I accidentally tap on the timer or did it overheat ... who knows? What this lamp really needs is a remote!

I really like this light. It is small and flexible enough to place just about anywhere. It puts out a nice light for reading or just lighting a space. The only knock I have is the power button placing. It's almost impossible to see on top of the lamp unless you shine another light source on it. That's because the lamp is black and the buttons are black. If I would change one thing it would be to make he power button easier to see. Other than that, I really like this lamp. It's a good value and I think you would be hard pressed to find a comparable unit at this price at a retail store.
