It really works but the quality is suspect.
I tried to assemble this today and it didn't make any sense until I realised that the green plastic cage for the lure is missing from the lid. It was not supplied! Useless. 1 STAR.UPDATE: I taped the lure to the top of the trap and tried that. It's trapped 20+ moths in 4 days and I've ordered 2 more; hopefully complete this time! This works very well.

This works!
Our box hedging has been invaded by Box Moths (the moths have white wings edged in brown and female moths are brown). After doing lots of research on how to get rid of the blighters three main factors emerged - put the trap out (April to October to attract moths - you then know you have a problem), trim your hedging and spray the hedges (lots of products are available I used Top Buxus). This trap is very easy to assemble. The first day I used it we didn't catch any moths but from then on it we have caught moths every day. The first few days I caught approx. 40 moths and the trap keeps catching them. I went out last night to see loads of moths hovering round the trap.I will certainly continue to use this trap and will purchase another one for our back garden too.Top tip - fill the bottom of the trap with an inch or so of water and put a few drops of washing up liquid in. This breaks the surface tension of the water and makes the trap more successful at catching the moths. As each moth lays between 100 and 200 eggs this is work in progress but it appears to be working. We also hosed our hedge down which dislodged lots of eggs. Fingers crossed we can preserve our hedging.

Plenty of caterpillars
I recently reviewed this product and said that whilst we had plenty of caterpillars, we had no moths in the trap after 6 weeks. Typically, as soon as soon as I sent in the review, today I found 3 moths in the trap. I guess there is a season for the moths to be about laying their eggs, I must have just missed it. However, I read that that the moth traps are just an indication of when eggs are being laid and that I should spray theBoxus in about two weeks time and closely inspect the hedging daily. Hope this helps.

Has not worked at all -
This product does not seem to work. I have a large infestation of box tree moth caterpillars munching there way through my extensive box hedging but this trap has not caught a single moth. Ive tried it in a few different places in the garden and nothing...nada....zilch.

Initially did not appear to work but then trapped a number of moths
Hung this up and for first month nothing happened but over last week or so have trapped about a dozen moths - all were box tree moths so no negative affects on other creatures. It is probably related to moth breeding cycles.

Works!
I bought this Box moth trap late in the season after the caterpillars had already done a lot of damage, but it's the first year they've reached my area. After putting the trap up, with a couple of centimetres of water in the bottom, it attracted and trapped a lot of the moths. If my box hedging survives into next spring I'll definitely refresh the pheromone capsule and hope it traps enough male moths to save the hedge!
