Great Fountain Pen
I just started to get into the fountain pen hobby and after this one arrived it is now my go to pen. It writes very smooth and feels great in the hand. Less fatigue than other pens I own. My only issue with the pen is you need to make sure the cap is secure when writing as it has fallen off a couple of times I used it. I love the color, the feel, the nib, just a great overall pen for the money

Good for writing
This fountain pen has nice ink flow, but the thick metal of heavy cap needs thin metal material, andthe cap needs new design of cap inside to fix the end of fountain pen holder.

Some important negative points
There are some important issues to point out.1 This pen accepts (most) long international cartridges with a narrow end, but will not accept short international cartridges that have a broad end.2 It does not accept most screw type cartridge converters (including Waterman converters), due to a width restriction inside the barrel. Only the slider types of narrow converters appear to fit.3 The design of the pen is different to some of the illustrations: the photos show a smooth, tapered nib holder while the pen has a ridged section. This does not affect the use of the pen; it's a cosmetic issue.4 The cap on the received pen is a flat topped sort, not a slanted Waterman type. This is a cosmetic issue only.5 The nib is as hard as nails and writes without any character or line variation. A Rollerball is a better option.6 The nib writes rather dry.On the plus side: the cap posts, but makes the pen a little top heavy. Also, the barrel has a good weight and overall it handles well.It appears to be made in France. The box, for those people obsessed with expensive and useless boxes, is quite basic and its cost does not outweigh its uselessness: it's a box not a jewel cabinet. One tiny plus point is that the pen can be had for less than £20. But the biggest negative point is that this pen not worth any more than £15. A Waterman Hemisphere can be bought for a bit more and is a far, far better pen; even the Allure (a modern looking pen) is a better pen. With the Embleme, Waterman have junked all of the positive aspects of a fountain pen and rendered it usleess, pointless and obsolete. It isn't even as good as a Sheaffer VFM (which itself is a poor pen).Better pens that accept standard short cartridges and screw type converters - and with far better nibs - are available much more cheaply: for example the Jinhao X750 or X450. Several Hongdian pens are just as well made as the Embleme and accept regular cartridges and adapters ; and they are cheaper. Not recommended: I bought one and promptly returned it: I cannot think of a single reason for buying this pen.

A big disappointment.
First, what did I like about this fountain pen? The solid metal quality, look, feel and construction of the brushed stainless steel cap, which closes securely with a satisfying click on the barrel. And? Sorry, that was it. Sadly, there was a lot that I didn't like about this pen. The barrel is low rent, cheap, light plastic with a horrible taper at the end. It does not post well and you have to jam the cap on the barrel to make it stay on. And, because the cap is heavy and the barrel is light it feels very unbalanced in the hand. Worst of all is the nib – mine was an F. It is a nail. It scratches and digs into paper; it is dry and skips. All in all not what I expected of a Waterman pen, of which I have a few, all of which I am perfectly happy with. Maybe, by bad luck, I got a stinker. Now consigned to the bottom of a drawer. Lesson learnt.

Not worth the cost
The pen writes OK but the nib isn't the finest. The real problem is the colour. I ordered a red one but the colour is more brown than red, a very ugly colour indeed. It comes with a single blue cartridge and doesn't even have the filler cartridge to take ink out of a bottle. This is very disappointing for a pen that costs this much. I have bought fountain pens for a fraction of the price that had that included. All in all a disappointing experience. My advice would be to find a different pen.
