Works really well under thick vinyl flooring. not too thick--like under .6mm (I think) which is what the flooing company said i needed. durable and easy to lay down. Makes floors sound great to walk on and provides some forgiveness on floor prep.

I put this down before I laid my LVP flooring in 2021, have loved it ever since! Makes a cold kitchen a totally cozy hangout on those chilly mornings. Set it and forget it, it has worked flawlessly. Just make sure your flooring is designed to handle it. Way cheaper and easier than running separate wires or hot water. Measure carefully before you order, you can easily trim the length, but can’t trim the width. I paired it with a Suntouch programmable thermostat, excellent. I installed this myself, so it was a fairly inexpensive project. I had to use a router on my subfloor to route the wiring and the thermostat sensor to the electric. I also installed 2 temp sensors. If the first one ever fails I can just attach the second without tearing up the floor. No problems so far!

Used this as underlayment for Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring after recommendation from a YouTuber. Easy to cut and lay down. It provided an extra (overkill??) barrier between bare floor and LVP planks, even though they had a barrier integrated into the planks. Price was excellent compared to narrower rolls or smaller sizes. There is a sticky strip along the long edge that makes installation simpler but still needed sealing tape for those odd joints where there was no strip.

The product itself is a great underlayment, but there was an issue with all 3 rolls I purchased. There is an adhesive with a tear strip to expose the double sided tape. The removable tear strip was stuck to the adhesive, and the entire double sided tape peeled off the underlayment. I had to use a razor blade to try to get a section separated. The third photo shows how it is supposed to work/look.

I laid down around 2500sq fr of Atlantis SPC LVT flooring. I really wanted the 6mm stuff but just about everything told me it’s too thick for the LVT I was using. Most people go with the plastic underlayment. And if that’s what you do, great. I went with this as it offers a little amount of spring, it isn’t so thick that it’ll cause the flooring to buckle or come apart. And it does significantly more sound damping and adds spring to floors we’re on all day. Now, I could have saved $850 and went with just the moisture barrier, and that would have been fine. So if you do that, and you’re putting this down on a floor you wear shoes on all the time. Do that. Save. But this is a floor my daughter runs around on, takes spills on and bounces around on. So any little padding is nice. Again, I’d have loved to to even higher. Use 6mm pad that disguises floor unevenness and such. But everything suggested using something 1mm or less. And this is the best of the best for that. Cost extra. But hopefully this is a one time cost that you never worry about again, but your feet and legs will be happy for 10 or more years because of.

This vapor barrier flooring works well! It’s extremely thin(1.5 mil thick), but just enough under the vinyl plank flooring. Used on a concrete pad and over 4 inch square ceramic tile. The backing is a fiber type material attached to black plastic vapor barrier. Seams butt together well, but I added seam tape as the overlapping seam plastic tends to curl. It has a small thin strip of tape to adhere together and hold in place. I ended up cutting off the extra and then adding 4 inch seam tape. The material cuts fairly easily, especially if you have fabric scissors! Razor knife, won’t cut through it. The material unrolls and lays down really well. Overall easy product to use. Hopefully it will provide moisture barrier. As far as quiet… Only time will tell. Doesn’t seem like it added much of a sound barrier. Manufacturer video on how to install is very helpful!

The quality is good and it works well. The product was easy to use and included good installation instructions. The best part was it was cheaper to buy through Amazon and was delivered quickly than the big box stores.

I looked at very many websites before deciding to buy this product as it was highly rated. However, considering how expensive this plastic covered felt is I was very disappointed that the 2 rolls arrived and were package taped together within a thin clear plastic packaging and both rolls were flattened and elliptical in shape as they were unprotected from distortion in transit. Each roll was wrapped in sellotape that couldn't be removed as it destroyed the membrane so had to be left on. When laying the rolls, both of them each had a large area where the black plastic membrane appeared stretched and and rippled and was not attached to the felt (see photos). If this is their level of quality control then it requires a serious overhaul and rolls should have arrived in a sturdy cardboard box.

Nice and quiet now

The underlay is high quality, very comfortable under the flooring and helps quiet down the walking (as the name suggests). I used it on my top floor to keep the walking sounds down under my LVP.
