The Noble Art of the Sword: Fashion and Fencing in Renaissance Europe 1520–1630 Paperback – January 1, 1900

This book is a wonderful reference for anyone who is looking to learn about the art of the sword, not how to make one but how they were made and adorned. I am a furniture maker and needed information about the decorative history of swords for a recent commission. The book is a nice read and there are a lot of very helpful photos for visual reference.

I had the opportunity to go to England and see some the Wallace Collection up close. This book is a great addition to my literary arsenal. There are details here that the lighting prevented me to get photos (available light only) at the venue. Great for anyone interested in arms and armor. The documentation is first rate.
